Sixteen

Hiccups POV

I watch Astrid as she talks to Tom as I unload things from the truck. The memory of Astrid in the truck flew threw my mind. She literally put my hand on her thigh. I didn't it at first yeah, but I realized she was probably weirded out. Then she goes and puts my hand in her thigh.

What is that girl thinking? Does she like me? There's no way, is there?

I finish unloading he car and shut the tailgate.

I carry our stuff over to a few rocks near the twins.

Ruffnut was currently making a bridge out of rock to a small rock formation out in the water.

Tuff fell in and was already out on the rock formation waiting for Ruff. At least they are having fun.

Fishlegs was in the water chasing the small fish that would get close to him.

I look around for Snotlout but don't see him.

I should go make sure he didn't drown.

I start heading down a small trail towards the water. I look around for him again, still missing.

I look around for a large rock. Once I spot one and might I say this was basically a cliff I make my way towards it and start climbing. I get to the top after some struggling. Climbing isn't my strong suit exactly.

I get closer to the edge and look around for Snotlout one more time. I scan the whole quarry and can't see him.

What the hell?

"HICCUP!"

I turn my head to the person screaming my name.

Astrid is standing next to the rock formation with Fishlegs behind her.

"TURN AROUND!" She screams cupping her hands around her mouth.

I turn my head to look over my shoulder and see someone within a flash. I find myself taking a few steps off the ledge of the rock formation. I look down to the blue below me.

This is going to fucking hurt like hell

I brace myself for impact and hit the water. It doesn't feel like water, but like glass.

I feel my skin start to burn and my nose start to bleed as the water gushed into it.

I open my eyes. The blue water blinds me as it mixes with dirt and sand.

I go to surface, but my foot is caught. I look down and see wire wrapped around my foot.

No... not that foot...Guess I did that when I hit and started struggling.

I feel my heart start to race at the though of drowning. I start to pull at the wire around my foot and get it loosened. My head starts to feel light and my vision becomes blurry.

I feel my limbs get weak and my head start to pound, my lungs feel like they are burning.

I see a splash of water and a funnel below it... my vision goes black.

Astrid's POV

"WHAT THE FUCK SNOTLOUT!" I scream to him as hiccup hits the water.

"THAT WAS WAY TO HIGH OF A FALL!" I shout at him.

"Astrid calm down he'll come up in a second, we'll all have a laugh about it later," Tom says putting his hand on my shoulder.

"What the hell is wrong with you!?" I say glaring daggers at him.

"He's not coming up," I say feeling my heart to race more and more.

"Don't worry Astrid,"Tom says getting annoyed.

I can't stand here. I can't. I-

I see bubbles start to rise.... but hiccup doesn't.

Fuck that.

I run to wards the water and dive straight into the water. I open my eyes and look around for hiccup.

I can see him. He's just floating there. I want to cry at the horrific sight. I start swimming towards him and notice his foot is caught.

I swim down towards his feet and start to untangle his foot. Once he's free I shove his body to the surface.

His body doesn't move.... shit he inhaled to much water.

I grab his arms and kick towards the top.

I feel my lungs start to burn as the need for oxygen starts to rise.

We break the surface and I take a deep breath before  paddling towards the shore with hiccup. His body is completely numb.

I swear to god if Snotlout killed you.

Once we get to the shore Fishlegs pulls him up for me and I take a deep breath.

The all stand around him paralyzed in fear.

I crawl over to Hiccup and lay my head on his chest. I can't hear him breathing, his heart beat is barely there.

I start pushing on his chest.

"Somebody help me!" I demand.

They all stand there in shock and fear.

Nothings happening, he's not moving. He just lays there lifeless.

"God dammit Hiccup," I say in almost a whisper.

I give one more hard push.

Hiccups body tenses up as water comes shooting out of his mouth.

He start coughing and sits up holding chest.

I let out a sigh of relief, I feel the tears start to flow from my eyes.

"Don't scare me like that ever again Hiccup Haddock," I say embracing him in a hug as the tears stream down my face.

"What?" He asks between coughs.

"Don't ever scare me like that again," I say into his shoulder.

He takes a moment and hugs me back. I can tell he's slightly confused by what I mean.

"What the hell Snotlout?! Are you trying to fucking kill me?!" Hiccup yells.

His chest vibrates as his voice booms. I don't care that he's bursting my ear drums. I'm just glad he's alive.

"I-I'm so sorry, I-I swear I didn't realize how far the fall was, Hiccup I am so so sorry I swear I would never try and get you killed," Snotlout said with guilt in his voice.

"Can you not swim?"

I open my eyes as hiccups chest stops moving up and down.

I realize what Tom just said.

I lift my head and let go of Hiccup," Tom what the fuck is wrong with you? Hiccup got caught on fucking wire, he almost drowned." I snap at Tom.

"Ok, ok, I didn't know that my apologies," he said lifting my hands," what matters is that he's fine now, he's not dead."

I feel slightly calmer now.

Let's get you a towel," I say looking Hiccup in the eyes.
