CHAPTER 19

Putting the car into gear, I drive fast through the empty streets in south London, reaching a dingy bar, a park up the car and walk toward the front door. My high heeled ankle boots tap the floor as I walk, nodding a the doorman as I walk through the heavy doors, I am instantly hit with a smell of smoke. Finding the face in the crowd, I walk purposefully toward him.

“Jared, I want to talk to you” I demand, tapping him on the shoulder. As He turns, he takes in my appearance, My tight jeans and slinky vest top, loose on my body.

“Well well, Chas, what can I do for you?” He asks, an easy smirk on his lips.

How dare he be happy, acting like nothing has gone on! Who the hell does he think he is!

Pulling my clenched fist back, I throw it at his face, colliding with the side of his jaw. Pulling my hand back quickly, I wince at the pain. As I collided with his face, he lost balance slightly, falling against the bar.

Looking at me with angry eyes, he scowls. “Bitch” Grabbing me roughly by the arm, he pulls me out of the front door, ignoring my indignant cries of annoyance. The cold air hits my face, Goosebumps appearing on my exposed arms, Jared throws me up against the wall, my back colliding with the wall painfully, my head snapping back uncomfortably.

Leaning in close to my face, his rough hands grasping my upper arms painfully, his kneed nudged between my legs and his body pressed against mine, he growls, “don’t ever do that again Charity, or dead security will be the least of your worries”

Staring at him in shock, my breath catches as fear takes over. He admits it? He admits that he killed him.

“You did it?” I managed to say, my eyes stinging with unshed tears.

His face emotionless as he stares at me, “Personally, no. But it was arranged, though regrettably he was not the target, Christian was”

Christian? Why would he go after him.

“Why?” I ask, my eyes on his.

“He’s becoming difficult apparently” An unrecognisable emotion passes his face.

“You need to stop what ever this is your doing Jared, I am warning you” I whisper menacingly.

He laughs shortly “Oh, we are far to into this now Chas, no turning back”

Struggling against his grip and loosing my patience. “Hand yourself into the police r I will, I am not letting you get away with what you did to Jason” At the mention of his name I falter.

He considers me, an amused expression on his face. “I guess your regretting your actions toward Jason now aren’t you?”

Clenching my jaw, I fight back the immediate tears that threaten to spill. “Don’t you dare say word about him Jared, I am warning you”

“It is hard to take you seriously Charity, your like a little terrier” He laughs, loosening his grip on my slightly. Using this to my advantage, I struggle out oh his grip, racing toward my car. Pulling my back by my hand, Jared pulls me against his chest, my back to his chest to be exact. His hot breath brushed against my ear as he speaks, “Charity, don’t test me, your more than enough trouble as it is”

Pulling against his arms, I struggle. “Let me go Jared, people are watching” I look around, the doorman is stood at his post, his eyes averted from the scene which is only partially hidden by the allyway.

“Baby, your in my part of town now” He whispers, his hand running up my thigh.

Jerking away from his touch, I pull harder “don’t touch me, you disgust me” I spit.
