I sat on the front steps of my house, trying to get Elliot to pick up his phone. I just kept calling him and calling him. I wanted my husband to respond and not go away for good. Not now. He may only have been back for less than two days, but we were doing so good already. He was back and I felt like this was either going to be the start of another chapter in our lives or the end of our book altogether.
"Elliot pick up!" I cried as I dialed his phone number again. I started to feel more tears roll down my cheeks, and I was beyond upset.
"Liv?" Cynthia questioned, as she called out the window from her apartment. I stood up and walked over to below her window.
"Can you watch the kids? Please!" I begged.
"What is happening?" She asked as I wiped a few tears from my cheeks.
"Elliot was here and he left without saying a lot because Meredith doesn't like him anymore. I need to find him. Please, please just watch them for me. They should all be good, but if they need anything just please be there for them." I whispered. My sister nodded for a moment.
"Okay. Yeah. Call me if you need me, okay?"
"Thanks, Cy. I'll be home soon, hopefully with my husband in tow."

Driving around town in the middle of the night was horrible. I just kept stopping at bars to see if my husband was there, but he never was. I stopped by the precinct and at a few hotels, but nothing. I was feeling like he was heading back to Maine, so I gased up my car and headed up there. If I was disappointed when I got there because he wasn't there, at least I tried to find my husband.
Halfway there, my phone rang. I pulled over onto the side of the road and pulled my phone out.
"Yes, Cy?" I questioned.
"Where are you? You said you'd be back in a few hours." Cynthia replied, her voice sounding so tired.
"I'm sorry. I should've told you. Uh, just ask Mary to take care of Chris and Mere. I'll be home in the morning sometime. Maybe closer to lunch."
"Where are you, Liv?!" Cynthia huffed.
"I'm driving to Maine. I think that Elliot is heading to Maine. That is where he had stayed after he ran away. Okay? I need my husband back. I want him to be around for this baby, and for all of the other kids. So please don't' hate on me for feeling this way, Cynthia!" I spat.
"You are so stupid sometimes. He left you and he just left you again. Stop making stupid choices and just become an independent woman who doesn't need her husband around to raise their children! Fuck!" Cynthia yelled at me. I hung up on her before tossing my phone into the passenger seat. I slammed my hands against the steering wheel before yelling at the top of my lungs.
She was in love once before, but not as intensely as I am in love with Elliot. Elliot and I have gone through everything together, and I can't lose him. I need to have my husband. I need him.

Upon arrival at the cabin in Maine, I saw my husband's car parked outside. He had gotten a couple of hours headstart because I had to put the kids down and then I kept calling him and searching for him. I parked beside his car before getting out and quickly slipping in a mud puddle, but it didn't stop me. I picked myself back up and quickly headed up the stairs and I knocked on the front door. I guess knocked wouldn't be the right term, instead, I pounded on the doors.
"What?!" Elliot spat, as he opened the front door. His anger faded away and was replaced with worry and fear.
"Why are you here, Liv?" Elliot breathed.
"You ran away again, El. I need you." I breathed, as tears streamed down my cheeks. I pushed my husband into the house and I slammed the door behind me before wrapping my arms around his neck and kissing him deeply.
It was such a weird and almost movie-like experience. I ran after him because I needed him, and now I'm standing in the living room and making out with him. His arms were wrapping around my body before he stopped me.
"Liv." He breathed, before taking his hands and using the pads of his thumbs to wipe the tears from my cheeks.
"Why did you run back here?" I asked.
"Because Meredith hates me. I don't like not being able to comfort her anymore. Or fall asleep in the rocking chair in her room." Elliot breathed.
"Hone-"
"I thought I could come back and the kids would like me and be okay, but I knew you'd hate me. But in reality, our tiniest kid hates me."
"Our tiniest kid isn't here yet, El. Meredith just doesn't like change, and I don't either." I breathed.
"Do you think she'll be okay if I come back for good?"
"She'll get used to it, El. Just come home with me."
"You look exhausted, Liv. Let's crash here tonight." He spoke, and I was about to shake my head, but he was right. I needed to sleep.
"I got in a fight with Cy tonight," I whispered.
"About?" Elliot asked as he led me up the stairs. He placed his hand to my lower back, before frowning when he noticed the mud on my back.
"About me driving out here to see you. To bring you back home. And before you ask, I did fall. But I'm okay."
"You can borrow some of my clothes and then I'll wash these. You can change back into them before we head home." Elliot breathed.
"Good." I breathed, before stopping him at the top of the stairs. I looked at him for a few moments before smiling softly.
"I love you, Elliot." I whispered, and he drew me close.
"I love you too, Livvie. Cy isn't going to be happy with me coming back, huh?"
"Probably not."
