The bright sunlight beaming through her curtains woke up Clementine, as she turned herself over to reach for her phone. It was a seemingly normal friday morning, as she smelled a feint aroma of maple syrup most likely coming from the kitchen. Stretching, she looked over at her clock that read the date.

'February 5th, huh?' She said to herself, as the significance of that date came to mind. She had been overwhelmed as of recent with the multiple events happening involving her, that she had almost overlooked what today was. With the dance sneaking up on her, AJ's mother returning suddenly, and the situation with the Boarding School students, it was no wonder that Clementine found it difficult to keep up with the days.

Getting ready and gathering her supplies for the day, she was quick to head downstairs soon after. To her surprise, the scene before her was plainly ordinary. AJ was eating waffles, as Lee read the newspaper and drank coffee. Even if he could read the news on his phone, Lee was always a man of tradition.

"Morning Sweetpea. Sleep well?" He said, as he flipped to the next page of the newspaper.

"Yeah. I slept fine." She said, with a hint of disappointment.

After realizing that no acknowledgement of the date was going to be given, she put her serving of pancakes in a ziploc bag.

"Headed out so soon Clem?" AJ said, as if he had anticipated that she would sit next to him as usual.

"Sorry kiddo. It's Friday, so I'm just going to get some Council work done so I don't have to do it over the weekend." She said, not once making eye contact with him.

Grabbing her stuff, she gave the two a quick wave goodbye before setting out to start her day.

'Surely they at least know what today is...' Clementine once again told herself, as she started her car.

The fact that the sky was a ominous grey color, gave Clementine the feeling that today just wasn't going to be her day.

---------

Walking through the school doors, she was greeted with the usual occasional  'good mornings' from different students and teachers. Heading to the Council room, she waited in anticipation as she held the door handle. Peeking slowly inside, she held her breathe as she waited for something to happen. However, she was only greeted with a dark and empty room. Nothing was new, and nothing was different. It was the same Council room that it had been the day before.

Sighing, she set her bags down next to her desk, and was quick to log onto her computer to start working. Nothing out of the ordinary had happened as of that moment, and Clemetine's realized that it was truly just going to be another day at Ericson High.

"Damn, you would think that the lunch ladies could at least cook my burger without burning it. I know they're working conditions are poor, but come on." Gabe complained, as he examined his blackened burger.
