Chapter 1 GROUP STUDY

Savannah's pov

I was walking down the street, clutching my bag close to my chest and looking back every now and then to reassure my safety. I saw a black silhouetted figure at the end of the street and froze at my place. The man started approaching me and I being extremely afraid tried to back away and ran in the opposite direction...
" Oh no ...Not I don't follow me.." I muttered to myself while running.
He came close and took out a pocket knife, ready to attack me.
I couldn't move. I just couldn't.
He came closer and shoved the knife right in my stomach.

I felt a sharp pain in my back as I found myself on the floor.
" Oh my lord, That was scary. Thank God it was only a nightmare."
'I am never sleeping again if this is what I get out of it'. I made a mental note to myself.

I checked the time and it was 6:40 am. My college starts at 7:30 am. So I guess I will have to get up now and get ready for the day.

I got up, brushed my teeth, took a shower, and wore a plain T-shirt with pants. I usually don't put much effort into dressing up.
After getting ready I came down to make my breakfast and packed some of it to take along with me. Since my college is only a few meters away, I prefer to walk all the way there. I spot Loryn and Hanuel at the gate clearly engaged in some sort of conversation.

Here are a few things you should know about these two -

1. They fight and make up even before you are the time to blink your eyes.
2. They wouldn't even know the reason why they are bickering.

Anyways, I proceed to meet up with them.

"Yo Savannah. I missed you " Hanuel said while hugging me, mockery evident in his tone. It kind of surprised me because I could feel the difference in his touch but I let it slip away.

"Hi Hanisman! (Yup, that's what I call him) I missed you too"

"Come on ! Cut this melodrama and let's go .
I don't wanna be late for my class three times in a row" Loryn was always running late.

The hallway was packed like always. We make our way to our classrooms. Daniel was nowhere to be seen. I sat near the window and soon the class started.
Miss wedge was particularly cheerful for a day as normal as this.

"May I be allowed to enter the class,miss wedge?" Daniel was late, like always. No surprise here.

e entered and occupied the seat next to me.

" Where were you? And why are you panting?"

" Ran-!!- all-!!-the-!!-way-!!-to-!!-here" he blurted trying to catch his breath.

"Hmm ..But why?"

"Overslept ."

" An incurable habit of yours"

Suddenly out of nowhere he grabbed my hand and looked deep in my eyes. He came closer to me and whispered.

" Then try curing it" he said with his husky voice.

He let go of my hand and turned his attention to the class. I was still surprised at what just happened. The way he held my hand and the way he acted was all different than his usual self. I didn't realize I was blushing until he said " Hey you're as red as a tomato" and laughed.

I burried my face in my hands . I was trying to process what just happened but suddenly the teacher called for attention and the class went silent.
" I have an announcement for you all . Since you're sessionals are approaching , I want all of you to study hard and for that I decided to pair you all in groups of two . "

He paired everyone in groups . Only four students were left . Daniel, Hanuel, lily and I.

" So Savannah with...."
