Chapter 19
Starting life over gain wasn't as easy as Susie perceived it to be. She was still human and her memories still remained in her head which made the whole moving-on process horrific. A sad yet determined smile from Mike's in the hallways meant an entire period of doing nothing but day dreaming about his eyes or his dimples or his hair. A cheeky wave from Noah caused anger and all at once, disbelief.
Susie knew Noah had found out about her previous "hobby" concerning him and a Polaroid but it wasn't as bad as he had assumed it to be! Okay, it was worse but then why was he acting so normal about it? Like instead of seeing his own face up on her walls, he had seen One Direction posters and thought that he should acknowledge her because they had stuff in common.
It was all very confusing yet it made her head spin with joy. "Hello! Earth to the Suzemeister!" said Andrea out of the blue, waving her hands in front of Susie's face. Susie smiled sheepishly and stood up from her seat. She had been day dreaming again and the entire Algebra period had literally flown by. "You're a lucky bitch. It's a wonder Mr. Knowles didn't notice you staring into the back of Josh Weinerman's head. I was really concerned about your mental health girl because a back of a head like that is not fine at all..."
Susie smiled at her friend's insights and they walked towards their lockers to get their truck load of homework and finally go home and get started on Susie's uneventful weekend.
"I hear Jay's having a party tonight." Andrea said and pulled out her backpack from her locker. She got two sticks of gum out from a pocket and offered one to Susie before stuffing her own stick in.
"Jay has parties every weekend. No biggie." Susie replied as they walk to her locker. Andrea looked at her quizzically, probably trying figure how Susie knew that. Sure Jay had weekly parties but no one but the invited knew of them. It was a cult thing or something.
Oh those days when she would go and try to get in so she could be close to Noah.
"Suze we have to go!" She had known Andrea for a couple of days but Andrea was a s transparent as tape and it was easy to tell what kind of person she was. Right now, there was a surge of adventure flowing through her veins and being fresh meat, Susie would be dragged into this.
They exited the building, Susie waving bye to some of the kids in her classes. The sun was at its peak and the wind flapped their hair around. "It's no use. We'll be recognizable and no one would want the loser and the new kid crash their fun." sighed Susie, trying to ward off the mad glint in Andrea's eyes.
"That's the fun Sue-Sue! Imagine crashing something like that! It's enough to make our grandchildren proud of us!" replied Andrea with double the enthusiasm. Susie winced at yet another nickname supplied to her by Andrea and shook her head. "I'm not going."
"Why not??!"
"Because. Because Mike will be there. And so will Noah."
Andrea rolled her pretty grey eyes. "Isn't this your chance to find out why Noah's being creepily creey and Mike depressingly depressed??" She did have a point but there was still no way they could get to go on Jay's ginormous house. No. Way.
Apparently, she had said that out loud because Andrea replied with, "Make you extremely hot, duh. Isn't that what they do in the movies and shit? Trust me, no sane guy would resist a hot girl...unless he's gay but then Jay isn't gay so he has to let you in!"
"This isn't wattpad. Or a movie."
"No, this is better because I'm really a part of it!"
"I don't even have any party clothes..."
"So? We'll go shopping for one! Two..."
"You won't give up, huh?"
Andrea smiled sweetly and dragged Susie to her house. "My house is closest. From the mall and from Jay Jay." she said, winking at the last part. Jay was very good looking but he was a class A jerk. "I haven't even asked my dad! Or Justine!" she replied in desperation, trying to get away from Hurricane Andrea.
"Call them, duh."
There was no getting away from this...
