I sat in the coffee shop window, as I looked onto the busy London streets. Mind humming with the sound of nothing. It had been half an hour. Blank. My brain just didn't want to cooperate today. I walked up to the counter and ordered my 3rd cup of tea. My phone started to vibrate. I always have it on silence. I looked at the screen name,'Matt the one and only', I put the phone hastily up to my ear."Hello." I said into the phone.
"Look up." The muffled voice said. I looked up. I saw a man with curly chocolate hair, tan skin and shorts on, even though it was March. That's Matt, the one and only friend. He waved at me through the foggy window. I waved back, I could feel my cheeks going bright pink. He ran round to the door and sat down next to me."Hows my favourite nut case." He yelled
"Shhh!" I blurted out,"I'm ok."
"Are you really just 'ok'." He asked.
"You know what, I really dont want to talk about it, Ok!" Which came out more aggressive than I wanted it to."Sorry, I didn't mean to snap."
"Just another one of those days?I get it."
"Yeah.""Hows the book going?" He asked.
"We love some writers block, dont we." I moaned.
"Oof." He replied. We continued to chat for the next 5 minutes, catching up on what happened in the last two days.
Matt and me met 2 years ago at a drama workshop. And we became great friends. We both realised that we had quite bad mental health issues. My phone started to vibrate again. I looked at the number, unknown. My body started to panic. Who is it? Not many people call my phone.
"Hello, who is it?" I asked.
"This is the Surry Police Department, we have Mrs Wood here." A voice said. I felt this big wave of dread fly over me.
"Who is it?" Matt asked.
"The police, they've got my mum."
