*....................................................................................

It was a beautiful day outside. Birds were singing...flowers were blooming. You rose up from bed, rubbing the sleep out of your eyes. You look around your room. It looked like any average room that siblings would share. Your brother Asriel's side of the room was upbeat. He had many trophies & some kind of certificates. There were golden stars hanging up on his side of the room. He had an alarm clock on his bed stand, along with a brown and orange themed lamp. His comforter was a grayish green with four yellow stripes crossing it, with a white pillow with some kind of dogs face in it.

But your side...

Your side was depressing.

Your side of the room was bland. You had no trophies or anything, not even a poster.
Your sheets were a depressing gray, so was your comforter. You had a single pillow too, it also has some kind of dogs face on it. Near the bottom of your bed, there was a rusty beaten up bird cage with some red wagon. There was some red stain next to it, it looked new.

*...
Then your bed side table, there was a monochrome-ish lamp on it, but that was all.

You decide to open one of the drawers, there were only a few button ups, jeans, and sweaters inside. Nothing special. You decide to open the second drawer, there were some drawings inside. You have no idea where they came from, but they looked nice. You decide to dig through the drawer, underneath all the drawings, there was...

A journal.

You widen your eyes at this, gently reaching your arms out to take it in your hands. It looked in great condition. You flip the journal over.

You obtain Kris's journal

You obtain Kris's journal.

...

You're not sure how to feel about this.

You dust it off,

You take a few moments to stare down at it before slowly opening it. The first page read

"My name Is Kris Dreemurr."
In surprisingly good handwriting. It was easy to read. You decide to read more...

"My name is Kris Dreemurr. I'm the youngest in my family. My brother Asriel is in college. It's boring without him around, my life's already been terrible. This has only made it much more terrible. My parents are divorced & I'm the only human in this town. I've grown used to the strange looks from others. But that's not all, I'm also known as the "creepy kid." Which is something I totally understand at this point...they won't ever understand, but they will someday. I'm also bullied by this girl named Susie. I don't understand how she could say anything about me, "she" looks like a He. Maybe that was a bit rude to say...anyway,

I like collecting things like Kris daggers. I like being risky, I've snuck into Noelle's house and snuck under her bed just to scare her. It was amusing, yet she's still nice to me. I guess she's just a genuinely kind person. Funny, we don't see much people like that anymore...do we..?

I have a mother. I think she worries about me. I don't understand why, I never will. Yes she's kind and all but...I know she's only acting this way because she knows how upset I am. I guess I appreciate this a little but, eh. She's upset too. I know how upset she is about Asriel being in college, about me...always causing problems.

What else could you expect? You have some silent kid that's been stripped of all their happiness. I've witnessed things I shouldn't have. My mother and father can never get along, but me and my brother were great, until he moved away. I understand how important school is to him, so the only thing I can do is respect that, respect him.

I go to a public school. I have no friends, only people that stare at me or hate me. I guess nobody's kind enough to try to talk to me at all, but I get it. I'm just the creepy kid. The creepy kid that gets slammed into lockers and is severely depressed and broken-"
...

You decide to quickly shut the journal. That was really sad...and a lot to take in. You think you've read enough.....

For now.

You definitely know you'll read more later on, you just felt so empathetic for Kris. It was sad seeing how depressed he was. But this...this was only the beginning. There were hundreds of filled pages with some disturbing drawings.

*You were full of EMPATHY.
