Chapter 14: Underrated Sister

It was Friday night and the two teams gathered in Osaka to discuss the race conditions.
"I figured since both teams are fairly large, we make this a best of five contest." Josh said to them.
" We each pick on driver per round and its one lap per race." He explained.
"Alright, sounds fair enough, Let's do it." Damien replied to him.
The races then shortly began on the Kanjo Loop and Victor and Nikki scored the first two points for their team.

Damien lost his race to one of Joshua's teammates and the score was two wins to one. Walter was competing next and felt Confident to get the last point for the team. Suddenly a red R33 GTR lines up next to his S14 and the person driving it was Yuki. Walter and his friends were flabbergasted and confused by Yuki's arrival. The count down began and Yuki didn't look at Walter once since she arrived.

Both drivers launched off the line and Yuki gains an early lead. The racers battle through traffic but Walter wasn't focused.
"She's a racer and she never told me." He said to himself.
"I'm racing my girlfriend, I didn't even know that she could drive." He said. "I'm so embarrassed, i should've said something." Yuki said to herself.

"He probably won't trust me after this, but i need to win, my job is on the line." She said.
"Joshua always underestimated me, that's why i drive this car." She said. "To prove that i should be taken seriously!" She yelled as she powers through the turn. Walter slowly fell behind on the Straights but was able to get close through the turns. They both speed pass the Kyobashi section and enter the long straight.

After Battling through heavy traffic they pass the Tennoji section and push towards the last sections of the race. Meanwhile at the finish, Walter's teammates were concerned about him.
"You saw the look on his face, he was just as surprised as we were." Nikki said to the group.
"Can he even beat her?" Damien asked.
"Walter is a good driver, but we don't know anything about Yuki." Victor said to the group.

"One of the main variables that can determine the outcome of a race is concentration." Victor said to the group.
"Walter isn't focused on the race, so he's already at a disadvantage, Not to mention That Yuki is Driving an R33, great for circuit racing." Victor told them.
"So his chances of winning are low?" Damien asked.
"The odds are too low to even consider it a chance." Victor told him. "Well that means you're our last hope Eli." Nikki says to him.
"Don't worry, I'll show loud mouth how loud my Charger is." Eli replied.

Yuki was leading pass Imamyia and towards Bentencho in her R33. Walter catches up then passes Yuki through a Sharp turn in the Bentencho section. He takes the lead then pulls away using his Nitrous. Yuki catches him and drafts his car on the final straight. "It's over,I'm sorry." She whispered as she gets door to door with Walter.

Yuki puts her foot down then rapidly passes him using every drop of power her car had. The red Nissan crosses the finish line then leaves the area immediately. The score is tied up two wins each and Josh makes his way towards his car.
"Finally, I have waited patiently to prove my superiority. " Josh said to himself.
"I've made adjustments to my gearing and suspension to suit this event." He said.

"Are you ready Eli?" Damien asked. "Let's do it, He thinks he's top dog, so I'll show him what some Detroit steel can do." Eli smiled.
"Remember we're not sure how good he actually is." Damien told him.
"I've got this Damien, This guy called out the wrong crew to race against." Eli told him.

Walter pulls over on the shoulder and exits his car with his head hung.
"Are you alright?" Damien asked with his hand on Walter's shoulder.
"I'm fine guys." He responds quietly.
"You can go talk to her if you want to." Nikki told him.
He shakes his head no then leans against his car.

"If she wanted to talk she would've stayed." Walter said to them.
"I'll just let her be." He said.
