I never understood why someone would surrender their freedom to another, to let them have such power over you.
I thought it a thing of fools, that was until I met you.
Could people really fall in love so fast?
And as I gazed back into his eyes I knew the answer.  Brown eyes were no longer plain and boring.
But rich like chocolate and warm like a home.
Just like that he was the smile on my lips, he became my every thought my every breath and my every heartbeat.
I felt stupid and helpless, but I didn't care. . .
He could have my heart, if he wanted.
Hell he already had me and didn't know it.
Confusion and hurt took over when I heard he had found the love of his life.
All this time I had thought . . .
I was sure . . .
Tears spilled for hours leaving a trail on her jewel cheeks.
But the realization came that selfishness was was beginning to bloom.
For she had no right. . . To feel the way that she did.
It didn't matter that she was hurting, it didn't matter what she wished had happened instead.
He was in love with a special girl, a beautiful girl.
And I . . . was happy for them.
