Lauren's POV
I stood outside Camila's room for what felt like hours. The silence killed me, the nerves were taking over my body. It was only a promise ring with a letter declaring my love for her but I was still so nervous. Partly because of what's happened with Lucy. I'd never cheat on her and I know that for sure, but a part of me has a feeling that she doubts that now.
"Do you want to come back in?," Camila quietly asks as she opens her bedroom door slightly.
"Sure," I chuckle, making my way towards the entrance of her room.
She sat on the bed fiddling with her fingers, she looked down at the floor while resting her head on my shoulder. I put my arm around her and moved my thumb in an 'up and down' motion on her bare arm.
"Camila," I started. "I'd never cheat on you. You know that don't you?"
"I did know that, I still kind of do," she sighed. "I just feel very conscious Lauren. You can't blame me. You didn't ever tell me about Lucy. I had to learn about her from Normani."
"I do understand but please let me explain," I sit up and face her. "Lucy was a bad part of my life, I didn't want to tell you about her because I was trying to get over you. If I had told you what she had done to me, being the amazing best friend you were, you'd tell me she was no good for me and I'd deserve better. Then I'd get my hopes up and assume by that, you meant I deserved you."
She looked at me blankly, with no expression in her face.
"Does that make sense?," I ask.
"Yes, I guess so," she responded. "What doesn't make sense is why you'd think taking her to our favourite coffee shop would be okay with me?"
"You're right. I'm an idiot-," I tried to explain but Camila cut me off.
"And you weren't even going to tell me were you?," She sternly asks.
"I was, I promise Camila," I pleaded with her. "I have nothing to hide from you. I've wanted to be with you forever, I'd never throw this away. You have to believe me."
"Okay, I believe you," she smiles. "Just, don't let me catch you with Lucy again. And a word of warning, if I ever see her, I'm gonna kill her." She laughs.
I kiss Camila gently and softly on the cheek, twice feeing the warmth of her cheek on my lips. It was a feeling I had felt before many times and one that I didn't want to lose. If there was ever to be a time when I couldn't kiss her on the cheek anymore, the feeling of her warm cheek would linger to my lips. I'd never forget that feeling.
"Babeeeee," Camila whined. "Can you please stay with me tonight?," Camila asked.
"Of course I can," I laugh, pulling her closer to me.
After that, Camila stood up from the bed and opened her cupboard where she kept her pyjamas. She lifted up her pink shorts with bows on them and a t-shirt that we both bought from The 1975 concert we went to. She gave me one last kiss on the forehead and made her way towards the bathroom where the sound of the shower overtook the silence.
