So i'm pretty much writing this for myself but i want to make it into a story if people start reading it. The idea is that i do something i've been wanting to do for a while...i want to put some thoughts on 'paper'. I have some ideas for a story timeline but for now it will only be something like an epilogue, some piece of my mind.
Have you ever been in that position where you doubt yourself when it comes to pretty much anything? You're not pretty enough, you're not smart enough, you're not fit enough. But the real question is who defines what is enough? If we can only not be influenced by these standards of the society, then we wouldn't judge or be judged.
And the most frustrating thing in the world is not having confidence in yourself. Self esteem is built over time and it can be shattered in a million pieces in a second, over a mean comment. We seek validation our entire life, because that's some sort of comfort for us, it goes like this : i don't love myself so i'm going to seek to receive this love from others. But if you don't love yourself why would others love you?
With social media it gets only worse. From my point of view, these standards have now reached a level that can not be achieved unless you are a celebrity and you get some plastic surgery or you just photoshop yourself.
People tend to believe in appearances nowadays. They are easily influenced and they stop thinking for themselves, they have become "followers". They pretty much do what they are told or what they see.
And what's worse is that we got used to the idea. To the idea of hate, if everyone is hating, to the idea of love, if everyone is loving, even to the idea of bullying if everyone is bullying. Things can escalate real quick in this timeline. Because of a comment, a gossip, a word or a misinterpretation people might start online hating or stuff. And that doesn't do any good. People might start making fun of someone and hurting them without even knowing. You can never know what insecurities a person has, and if you push the wrong buttons you might do some damage.
So how can we live in this world? How can we live trough all this hate or even worse, how can we live with ourselves?
