Back then, he gave me a rosary made of pearls. And I used it to pray for him every day. After that, I told him that I read his journal. When I was figuring out what was the circular thing being attached, I unfolded the paper and saw something that he could have given to me.
He was supposed to ask me for marriage. To become his wife. To become a part of his life.
Sadly, time was our enemy.
Today, supposedly, was our celebration of being together for 25 years. Yet I still love him so dearly.
The ring was beautiful, but the moment itself would be more beautiful if he was able to say the words that he wanted to say that time.
And so, I wore the ring. Yes, I do. I whispered unto his grave.
I lied down beside him. A series of flashbacks visualized in my head. Then I told him the things that I wasn’t able to tell him as well.
“I thought that the world was the only thing left that was cruel, but then, there was you, and you changed everything in my life. I will never ask for more.”
You will always be my guardian angel. Always.
