Tracy ran into her closet, knowing that she had at least five minutes before she had to buzz Kurt in. She was scrummaging through all her clothes, and they were all dirty except for this old burgundy sweater and her favorite pair of shorts.
ZZZZ!
Tracy ran out of her room almost falling down the stairs, quickly checked her appearance in the mirror and opened up the door. Kurt stood in the doorway with what looked like a bundle of roses he found in a garden.
"These are for you," he said shyly, almost refusing to make eye contact with Tracy. Tracy was taken aback by the sweet gesture and proceeded to reply with, "Thank you Kurt. Come on in." He shuffled in quite quickly, almost pushing Tracy down accidentally. He noticed how fast he was being and he instantly apologized for almost mowing her down.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to push you."
Tracy looked up at the boy that was in-front of her with her bright brown eyes. "It's not a big deal, I'm fine."
Kurt accepted the answer and made his way to sit on her couch. Tracy went into the kitchen to put the stolen roses in a halfway cracked vase, and then asked Kurt if he was thirsty or hungry at all.
"I'm fine, I ate on the way up here." He stuttered through the whole sentence, indicating to Tracy that he was lying. She opened the cupboard and only found a loaf of bread, she grabbed it and emptied the last of the bread onto a paper plate.
Tracy made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and walked into the living room, sitting them down on the table, she looked over at Kurt.
"You didn't have to make me anything, I told—."
"I can smell bullshit from miles away, so when it's this close to me I know." They both laughed, Kurt laughing a bit louder than her. "What's on your mind K?" Kurt looked up at her curiously, "K? Is that my new nickname or something?"Tracy's smile quickly turned into a frown, "You don't like it, do you? I'm sorry—."
"Hey, no I really like it. It's just all I've ever been called is smartass and dumbass, sometimes at the same time." They both laughed and Kurt picked up a sandwich from the tattered plate. He took a bite and groaned, "This is so damn good, how did you do this?"
Tracy laughed, "It's just a basic PB&J, nothin special."
"Well, I know that, but this has the right amount of everything." "Thank you, I'm glad you like it."
Kurt rolled his eyes playfully, "Like is an understatement and so is love, whatever is greater than both is how I feel about these sandwiches."
They laughed and spent the night conversing about the world's biggest issues.
