(First things first, "I'm the realist" I hope I got a good little laugh out of you. Damn I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't be tempted to release Cameron's beast. This is going to be a little intro to our main character, hopefully I'm not too dirty minded for you readers. I myself do appreciate a little "action" here and there, but I won't make this 50 Shades of Cameron. So if you're looking for straight up porn, sorry but keep looking. If are in fact here for the romance, it'll come in the next couple of chapters so stay tuned. Alright, I'm done with the sexual talk. Let's get into it.)

It had been almost a year since mom died. Breast Cancer is what took her from us, Derek, my dad and I. None of us had realized how sick she actually was, she had always covered up the pain her award winning smile. Oh how I missed that smile. But now it was gone, and I could never get it back.

"Are you ready?" My dad said as he came walking down the staircase with about 3 or 4 boxes in his hands. His slim face hidden behind the boxes. He slowly peered over the top of the boxes, his brown eyes with a hint of green in the middle now visible, along with his neatly groomed beard.

"I'm not the one you should be asking." I mumbled softly as I finish taping a box full of old photographs of mom. I hold one in my hand, tears beginning to form in my eyes.

"I miss her too...but this is for the best. We need to a new start honey." Dad says as he kissed my head, taking the picture from my hands and placing it in a box sealing it with the tape.

"Go get your brother, I'm ready when you are."

I nod as I walked up the old creaking stairs covered in a thin layer of carpet for one last time. My hands gently holding onto the railing. I laugh softly, remembering the times Derek and I had gotten our heads stuck between the wooden bars. I shake my head, we did some stupid shit as kids. But now we are older.

"Derek?" I call, knocking on his door as it creaks open. I peak my head in and frown, seeing him sitting on the edge of his bed with his head in his hands.

"Meredith, I don't want to leave." He says, muffled due to his hands hiding his face. His face slowly turns to look at me, blue eyes locked into my hazel ones. His eyes were puffy, red, and his cheeks...stained with painful tears. It honestly hurt to see him hurting. I've only seen him cry one other time, when mom died.

I walked into his room and took a seat next to him, no words spoken. I wrapped my arms around him. Nothing needed to be said.

About an hour had passed, now Derek and I were standing in the middle of our empty living room giving the house one last look. I was sad honestly, 16 years of memories, love, family we were leaving behind to move to L.A. A new start was much needed, and I was

ready.

(Once again this was more of an introduction to the one of the main characters. Thank you for reading!)
