I landed the ship in New Mecca. Anna and I hadn't spoken a word since we got off that worthless hell hole. I brought her here the holy man's wife was still here, I knew she'd help me. Inside the Cryo-chamber her tanned skin was glowing pale blue, her long brown hair tossed over her shoulders, covering the gunshot wound she'd received early on when we first met. Her emerald eyes stared up at me with golden specks, the gaze gave me chills. I forced myself to open the chamber and close her eyes before I picked her up.
I cradled her against my chest and walked off the ship into the crowded streets of New Mecca. People crossed the streets and scatter to avoid being near me. I paid no mind, my only thought was to get her body safely to the holy man's wife. "Halt stranger." The blood in me turned, I was in no mood to fuck with the soldiers. I stopped and allowed them to catch up. "Riddick." One stuttered my name with great fear. I glared at them. "I have't got the time to kill you." I shot at them. A woman soldier approached me, she looked at the body and tilted her head sideways, blond bangs falling into her big blue eyes. "Commander." She mumbled. I only nodded in response. "Where are you taking her?" She asked. "Somewhere safe." I replied quietly.
"Move on soldiers, this man was pardoned by Commander Brooks a month ago." She told her ranks. The men looked at each other before marching on. The woman lingered only a moment extra. "She pardoned me before she woke me?" I questioned. The woman offered a look of sympathy. "The commander had faith in you were everyone else did not." She looked at the body in my hands one last time. "She didn't see the potential she had as a leader." She whispered and moved away allowing me to continue.
"Riddick." I heard over my shoulder as I place her limp body on the couch. "Lajjun. I need you to keep her safe until I can return." I told her. She gave me a look of appall. "Riddick, She is dead. I cannot help you." She objected. "I know that. Place her in a Cyrobed and keep her safe until I get back." I ordered. Her brown eyes shifted to me. "My husband said he owed his life to you. His debt is mine, Furyan. I shall do as you wish but what if you don't return?" She asked. I tilted my head down to Ashlynn's body. "Then you bury her but I'm coming back, Leave her in the chamber." I barked. "Mr. Riddick?" The voice was small. On the stairs A tall, slender young black woman stood staring at me."Ziza." I greeted her. She'd grown so much since I'd last seen her she was probably almost twenty now.
Ziza looked behind me to the couch. "Who is she Mr. Riddick?" She pried. I peeked over my shoulder at the couch and exhaled. "Commander Ashlynn Brooks, She was also the doctor who awoke me from a 10 year Cyrosleep." I answered. "Then why is she so important?" Ziza asked. "Ziza!" Her mother scorned glaring at her before looking at me in fear. "I..I'm not sure." I answered a ping in my stomach forced me to look away from Ashlynn's corpse and back to Ziza. "Please help your mother for me." I murmured, turning towards the door. "Mr. Riddick." She called out after me, chasing out into the street.
"What are you going to do?" She questioned with worry spilling from her light brown eyes. She pushed back a bouncy black curl and await my answer. "I'm going to get her back." I final said out loud for the first time since I made up my mind. "Riddick, you mustn't its suicide."She begged. I shook my head."Don't let anything happen to her." I instructed. "Riddick, only one person's ever returned from the underverse, he didn't return human.Even if you do, What will become over her?"She questioned. I lower my head and shrugged. "I don't know Ziza, but I have to get her back. I failed her. It's my fault she died. I should have killed Kyra." I scorned myself. Ziza's hand touched my arm. "God be with you, Mr. Riddick." I blinked at her, nodding slowly I walked past her back to the ship.
"Constellation unknown." The computer spoke to me . I finished punching in the coordinates for the underverse and put auto-pilot on. I hoped sleep would take her off my mind so I locked myself in a chamber and closed my eyes. Her eyes. Her smile. That silly giggle. "Did you just fucking shock me?" Smirk. "Richard. B. Riddick". "I love you." My mind lingered on Kyra sliding her knife out of Ashlynn's stomach. Ashlynn falling to the ground. Her hand on my face. Her eyes darkened. "You cry for her?" She growled. I shook my head no. She glared at me with filled with hate. "Then why did you let her kill me, Riddick?"
My eyes popped open, I was covered in sweat. My body was aching with guilt. I flung open the cold glass door to my chamber and stepped out to rub my forehead. Clearly, sleep wasn't going to help. I returned to the captain's chair and glanced around the universe, lingering lightly on passing planets. "Fuel low, refilled needed." My eyes shot to the computer screen showing the dropping fuel line. Subconsciously, I was grinding my teeth, like I needed another set back on a stupidly bright planet. My fist slammed down on the chair arm. A purple planet with white swirls caught my attention. Vio-Terra 18. Scumy little planet equivalent to earth's Sodom and Gomorrah. Hell hole filled with drunk creatures of every races.
"This isn't just out of fuel the tanks damaged. I can fix it for you if you give me a few hours." The mechanic, a short fat man with balding black hair and a grey beard told me. I nodded and walked towards a nearby bar. The purple pit, how fucking original. The bar's only light was from to dark purple strands of neon that ran around the walls. The bar itself was lit by six blue neon circles, one every two chairs. I took a seat at the end of the bar, prompting the female bartender to sway over to me. Tall and skinny, she was noticeably a humanoid hybird. Long, wavy blonde hair lay twisted over her left shoulder, exposing what appeared to be gills just below her ears. She had big blue eyes, much to big for her face and pouty red lips, which she lick and smiled at me. "Why, hello there stranger, what can I do for you?" She asked. "Black tonic." I told her. She leaned in over the counter exposing the tops of her breast. "Anything else?" She winked. "Nah." I answered. The tiny corset top she was wearing left little to the imagination and was so tight I was sure if she sneezed it would burst open.
She sat my drink in front of me but lingered. "Where ya heading?" She pried. I glared at her pressing the glass to my lips the sweet burn flowed down my throat. I put down more money than she deserved and stood up. "I know you, you're that murderer, Riddick. I heard they pay a huge bounty for your ass." The man stood, he matched me height wise but I had him in every other way. Thick, curly black hair dangled by his large ears. His black eyes glared at me. "I've been pardoned." I told him. "Hadn't heard that one, anybody else hear that? I think I'll take you in anyways." He lunged at me. I sidestepped and caught him by the elbow. Snatching it down I smiled at it snapped, the cracking of his bones caught the attention of others. While the first fell to the floor two more came at me, my elbow broke ones nose then my fist smashed into the other's mouth. His jaw cracked. The first man charged me again, I caught him by the throat then I snapped his neck and let his body fall to the floor. I glanced around the room looking for my next opponent, the crowd to a step back and allowed me to push my way out the door.
