I walked into the convenience store that is down the street from my house.

"Hey Y/n!" I hear the cashier say

"...Hey Taejin. How are you?" I say awkwardly.

"Good. Just doing my job." He chuckles and salutes

"Good." I turn and go into the personal hygiene aisle.

"Perfect day to need tampons..." I mumble to myself grabbing a box.

On my way to the register, I manage to grab a chocolate bar, magazine, a box of crayons -why?-, a lighter, and a box of paperclips.

I put my stuff on the counter and as he rings me up Taejin says-

"Weird uh... Weird set of stuff huh."

I don't say anything just watch as the price goes up.

11,000....

16,000...

19,000....

29,000...

34,000...

"That will be 39,987 won."

I pay and leave.

As I'm walking home it starts to rain. I start to walk faster and then I hear loud feet slapping the concrete behind me. I don't stop but I glance behind me to see a person- maybe a man- in a mask and glasses.

I don't think anything of it. I speed my pace up trying to get to my warm comfy bed.

I hear the footsteps slapping the ground again.

I stop abruptly. So do the footsteps.

I turn around to see the same figure.

"Why do you keep following me?" I yell at the rain blurs my vision.

The stranger stays silent. His mask covering his face.

"Please, I just want to know why you are following me? I'm a thirteen-year-old girl and I am walking home alone excuse me for being cautious."

After staring the stranger down I turn and start to walk eventually turning into a run to return to the warmth that is my bed.

I get home and take a shower.

I flop down on my bed and drift asleep.

I dream of the figure every night.
