"You two will be working TOGETHER on this assignment," and immediately I shake my head, no, hell no, I wouldn't work with this arrogant, self-entitled, jerk of a cop. Hell no.

"I'm not doing that, I'm not working with him." I look over at my arch nemesis, Garrett Watts, who leans back in his chair, arms crossed, a smug look resting on his face.

God, I hated him, I hated him so much.

"It's not a question." The chief glares at the both of us, "You are the best we have, especially with Adams out, either suck it up or find a new job." He hands us both the files, "dismissed." Shooing us both out at the same time. Garrett pushes past me, and it takes everything in me not to shove him back.

"You're cool with me taking lead on this right?" It wasn't a question, or at least, he didn't sound it out to be one, and I roll my eyes.

"I'm better suited for it and you know it," I glare, pouring myself the rest of the coffee in the breakroom.

"Says the cop with the second highest solved cases rank, but okay, Siwicki." He saunters out of the room, again, nudging me on the way out. I only roll my eyes again, sipping on the coffee I've just poured.

"Andrew, come on, it's not that bad!"

"Morgan!!! Yes!!! It is?? Are you crazy??"

"You're being overdramatic."

"You just, you don't get it okay?? He's arrogant, he's selfish, he's—"

"Brutally handsome, rugged even, eyes the color of the ocean in Bali, and might I add, a jawline that could cut glass." I turn around, Garrett flashes me a grin as he nears me, placing a hand on my lower back, "sup, baby?" I jerk away from his touch, not wanting him near me.

"What the hell?"

"Easy there, I'm just getting in character. We are in a relationship after all." He winks as he sits down in his chair, kicking his feet up on the desk.

"That's not allowed," I mutter, sitting down at my own desk, I turn to my computer, finishing up old paperwork from the case before. Morgan laughs at the two of us, as she normally did.

"Why did you have to go and get shot? I'd much rather do this case with you." I whine, staring at the sling around Morgan's neck.

"Andrew, even if I hadn't gotten shot, you do realize you'd still have to do this op with Garrett right?"

"What do you mean?"

"I mean the two of you are going undercover to a gay bar, and newsflash..." She motions to her boobs, "I'm a girl." I hated the fact that she was right and go back to my paperwork.

"Whatever," I muttered, putting the finishing touches on the document in front of me before submitting it.

I get up to get more coffee, I'd already had three cups today and it wasn't even noon yet. I'd be the first to admit that I had a caffeine problem, but it wasn't one to be taken too seriously.

"You do know that there are other people here who also drink coffee right?" Garrett follows me with his cup, waiting for his turn.

"It cost zero dollars to mind your own business." I roll my eyes, filling my cup getting ready to walk back to my desk. Garrett reaches out, grabbing my arm,

"Why do you hate me so much?"

"What? What do you mean?"

"I mean... I know we have our fights, and we compete every day to see who's the best when clearly, we both know that it's me, I mean have you seen my target practice?"
