Cordelias POV
"Dont be so stupid Edmund." I handed him a sandwich, but he only looked at it.
"Are you gonna eat?" I looked at the sandwich and at him.
"Why eat? Eating would only keep me alive."
"I dont understand your depression." I shook my head and ate my sandwich.
"Just leave him be. He's a weirdo." Sofia smiled and messed up his hair.
"Did you brush your teeth this morning, Sofia?" Edmund looked up at her since he was sitting and she was behind him.
"Hmm...not sure. What day is it?" She put her thinking face on and Edmund smacked her arm.
"Cordelia!" Ned called for me.
"¿Mande?" I raised my voice just enough for him to hear me.
Mande - yes
There was only silence.
"Ned." I called for him.
"Hate when they do that." Sofia shook her head.
"What, ned?!" I rubbed my eyes and groaned. I got up and looked at Sofia.
"So they can hear what I mumble but they can't hear me yelling what?" I rolled my eyes and walked to where Ned is.
"Grab a horse and go to the Hastings."
"What for?" I furrowed my eyebrows.
"They have a surprise for you." He smiled and I walked back to the kitchen.
"Alright, losers." I gave them both fist bumps, "I have to go. I'm needed elsewhere. Get out and get lost." I smiled.
"I've been lost for quite some time now..." Edmund still didn't take a bite out of his sandwich.
"You going to eat that, or what?" Sofia looked at him and took his sandwich. "what are you thinking about?" She asked.
"A way to murder you." Edmund looked up at her and as he stood he looked down at her since he's 6'2 and Sofia's 5'5.
"Stomping on her should suffice." I joked about his height.
"Don't stomp on me." Sofia gave him a look as she was eating.
"Oh, I'm sorry what did you say? It's so hard to hear," he raised his voice, "when you're all the way down there!" He cupped his hand on his ear as a sign to speak up.
"Yikes." I walked outside and saw Adair walking inside with some fresh vegetables from her garden and bread sticks.
"Oh!" I reached for an bread stick but she smacked my hand. "Ow!" I held my own hand from the pain and walked towards the horse.
"You guys comin'?" I looked at the both of them.
"I don't think the horse will be able to hold, Edmund. He's too big for it. Like if he were to be riding a pony." Sofia continued eating the sandwich.
"Oh, my God. You're so funny, Sofia!" He smacked her shoulder and faked a laughter and stopped with a serious face
"You made me drop my sandwich." She looked at it spread out on the dirt.
"Oh, please. You're badunkadunk will get another one." He held the horse steady as I got on top of it.
Badunkadunk - a big, fatass
"My sandwich..." Sofia
"You coming or what?" I asked as I grabbed the leash.
"No, I have to help my mom with some things," Sofia answered.
"I'm worn out." Edmund backed away and stroked the horse.
"Take care, guys." The horse began to move around. I placed my hand on it's neck and as I exhaled it calmed down. Sofia and Edmund don't know that I have magic but I secretly use it in front of them if it's not too noticeable.
"Ride safely. It's getting dark." Edmund stepped aside and as I removed my hand from it's neck it began to walk for a while then sped up. I clicked my tongue against my cheek and it slowed down. I got off the horse when I was deeper into the woodland.
I looked around and touched around the trees. I held onto the leash of the horse as I looked for water in the trees with the touch of my hand. I felt and heard water in a tree. I grabbed some leaves and held it together. I used magic to make it a bowl. I held my hand against the tree bark and as I focused I heard water dripping into the leaves. I drank some and gave the rest to the horse. I managed to grow an apple tree. I plucked an apple and grabbed my knife from my bag. I cut the apple into slices and fed it to her. I stroked her mane as she ate the apple and all of a sudden I heard a leaf crunch and a branch snap. I turned my heard to where the sound led to.
I quickly got on the horse and still had a grip on the knife. I gently kicked my foot onto the horse and it began to run. My heart began to race. As we took a turn I was suddenly pushed off the horse and a male body was slammed against mine, removing the air from my lungs. I must've stabbed the person considering his groan in pain.
"Get off!" I pushed the guy off of me and got up.
"You have magic!" He practically yelled it.
I swung my hand in the air and dirt landed on his face. He pulled his hand towards himself and pulled my leg without even touching me. He has magic too.
"Ow!" I held my head and he approached me. He touched my Temple and touched his own Temple three times. Transferring the pain to himself.
"I didn't mean to hurt you." He held my head but I touched the tree and the roots came out from the dirt and wrapped the roots around him. I placed my pointer and middle finger in my mouth and whistled. I saw my horse running to me. I quickly got on top of it and as it was running away I turned back to the guy who was struggling to get free.
