They say it's easy to forget,

To erase the past that haunts me day and night.

Memories once so bright,

But now gone wrong.

I tried so hard,

I turned my back.

I mocked my feelings,

Pretended that everything was just a mere dream.

I busied myself,

Then came the same hot tears.

That empty feeling,

That only the lonely heart can understand.
