There is nothing terrifying about this movie, unless the background music. I slouched down my seat and covering my ears.
"Stop" I shoved Adit's hand. He tried to pull my hand from my ear. Adit is the reason why I am here. We have a complicated relationship. We are best friend, work associate, who happened to love each other. We had confessed our feeling, yet we did not clear the circumstances. We are less than lover more than friend. This relationship had afflicted me.
"Was it that scary?" He leaded me out the studio.
"Yes, because of the background music" I rubbed my forehead "Hold on, your hair" I mend his tussled hair.
He did not bother. We are comfortable with each other, unless no physical intimacy. Roll your eyes if you want, we are that lame.
I like this cinema. It is in the middle of both our places. As complicated as it is we also live in the same neighborhood but different blocks. Tell me it is not a coincidence, but it is. We are complicated like that.
"I'm going to the toilet" He making his way. I dig my hand bag to grab my phone.
I am surprised seeing 6 missed calls from my boy friend Rafiq. As my closest friend Rafiq had known me since I am 18, we attended college together 9 years ago.
"Hey" I answered Rafiq's call abruptly, nearly startled.
"Naomi, why is it so hard to reach you?" His voice flared.
"Sorry I didn't check my phone. What is it?" I searched for vacant seats.
"Where are you?"
"Cinema" Adit has taken the seat beside me now.
"With who?"
"Adit"
I can hear Rafiq snorted now. He is stalled about my relationship with Adit.
"Hey, why?" I hurried him.
"You're coming tomorrow right?" He continued.
Rafiq arranged a small home party tomorrow. He runs several culinary businesses in town. One of the unit has just opened this weekend therefore he wanted to celebrate it.
"Yeah. I have told you I'll be there after work. What's the matter?" I reminded him. Adit is furrowing his forehead observing me.
"I'm calling because I need a hand to shop with me. I really need you to go with me"
"What a bleak Fiq, where's your people?"
"We divided tasks like that, I'm in charge of plastic cups and whatever it follows. And I am not sure what to buy. So I need you"
"Ask your people not me"
"I thought you're free. Alright, I'm sorry pal. Is Adit come tomorrow?"
I glanced to Adit which already browsed his phone.
"I'll ask him" hesitating "And ask your people okay" I continued
"Alright, tell Adit I say hi"
"Kay, bye" I finished the call.
Adit raised his brows, signaling who called me.
"It's Rafiq" Stuffing my phone inside the handbag.
"Do you wanna grab dinner?" Adit nodded.
"Yeah.. "
"Come on, I know a place"

I first saw Adit when we were being gathered by the head of the department. At that time I already worked for 6 months in the institute. Adit was rolled from several departments before his placement. He was excellent. He is a quick learner, quick witted and quick footed.
