Sasuke's POV

Three years..

I thought as I slowly made my way inside the only place I called my home. Konoha.

After we won against Madara during the Fourth Great Shinobi War, I decided to return to the Leaf village.

It's not like I really had a choice, though, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else at the moment.

At first, the other shinobis, who were also the "Konoha Twelve", didn't believe me. But, I guess that's completely understandable after everything I did to them back then.

Well, how would you react when the one you once called a comrade, who also betrayed the Leaf and planned to destroy it and spare no one in addition, told you that he wanted to come back home with you?

Exactly.

And, to be honest with you people, the Hokage herself, hesitated at first. But after numerous pleas and begs, courtesy of the one and only Uzumaki Naruto, she just had to agree.

And I guess, I owe him one for that.

And now, here I am.. walking down the empty streets of Konoha this pleasant morning with my backpack, to the Hokage tower, where I believe she will soon discuss to me the "conditions and punishment" in exchange for my stay here.

I know that they still don't trust me, but I will prove them wrong.

I've changed.

Please, please.. wake up..

It has been six months after I came back.

And finally, I had gain their trust again.. Ino, Chouji and also Shikamaru, already had laid their faith in me during a retieval mission; then, there was Neji, TenTen and Lee, who did so after a sparring match; while Hinata, Shino and Kiba, did at the ramen house.

As for my sensei, Iruka, he had also forgiven me and so did the Hokage, Lady Tsunade. And soon, everyone else in the village.

And as for my precious team.. Well, let's just say that, despite the punishment of being a Genin and doing low solo D-ranked missions ( which I dreaded to agree with ), the Hokage was kind enough to put me in my old team.

Team Seven.

As for them, Kakashi, the pervert who I look up to as my father, immediately accepted me. While the two..

Um.. let's say that, just when I thought that both of them will greet me with open arms, like I expected them to, I guess I was wrong.

Naruto, was the one who did so. I have certainly no problems with him, the one I now treat as my bestfriend, but to Sakura..

She's different.

Everyday, when I ( at least ) try to great her a good morning whenever I see her walking down the streets, after her weekly night shifts. She just nods in response.

It's like, she's avoiding me.

And now to think of it, she was the only one who didn't attend my "Home Coming" party Naruto made me five and a half months ago.

Weird.

It's like.. I don't know her anymore.

Please.. open your eyes..

As days passed by, I felt myself in a never-ending sea of depression.

And it's not about the lack of C-rank missions lately, which they promoted me with.. Nor is it the vomiting smell of ramen, my blonde teammate showers me with every lunch time.. And it's certainly not the gloomy weather outside...
