"i can't wait to go home" i think to myself. i was stressed, tired, and overwhelmed. all i wanted to do was talk to her.

her, meaning my girlfriend paige.

paige and i started dating 3 months ago, we still kept it secret.

all i wanted right now was to hear her voice and her laugh.

but instead i'm stuck in this junkie ass smoothie shop, until 9pm.

i look at my phone, smiling slightly at the home screen.

a picture of paige and i, from the time we went to disney.

my favorite memory of us.

the time reads 8:53pm. i was relieved.

i take off the neon green apron uniform i'm forced to wear and hang it up in the back.

i say my farewells to my coworkers and head home.

i flop on my bed, rushing to hit the call button on paige's contact.

she answers almost immediately.

"what's up?"

"hey i just got home" i smile brightly.

she was laying in bed, she was only showing her face but i could tell she was wearing a big grey hoodie.

oh and those eyes, how they sparkled.

"finally, you're busy all day" she shoves popcorn into her mouth.

"i know, it's just for this summer"

she sighs. "i wish you were here"

"i wish i was too"

then she talked about some new shoes she got, and with every small detail, she rambled on and on.

her perfectly shaped glossy lips moved when she rambled.

i swear she never stops talking.

"y/n? are you even listening"

i snap out of it. "yes of course, keep going"

oh god how i love this girl.
