The battle was messy, explosive and over. The battleground was now and exploded clutter of rubble, dry branch and stirred up dust and ash everywhere, so much fire. Guess it didn't help that Ms. PixieHunter was a pyromancer, and trees were flammable.

The echoed sounds and winds of their battle still lingered, but the storm from the titan slowly disappeared.

A shadowy claw bursted up from the rocky tree mess, clawing at the surrounding area before finally grasping a branch, The Bat pulling himself up from the mess with his little half-sis Mellori firmly gripped in his other arm in a protective hold.

He gasped and breathed for air in the ashy surrounding, coughing in unison with the raven child as they looked around.

He grunted as he peered up at the vanishing storms. "She did it..." He sighed a huge sigh of relief, looking down to Mellori.

"Wizard?!" Mellori called out through her wheezing and coughing, looking around the decimated battleground.

Bat's eyes widened with slight horror as he realized the m.i.a state of the wizard, gently placing Mellori down before stumbling to his feet and limping around.

"Amber?!" He roared out, lighting up with hope as more rubble trembled and parted, only for his shadowy heart to drop when he realized it wasn't her, but Raven and Spider making their own escape from being buried.

He kneed down for a moment, hunching in pain as his a leg and lower abdomen had been pierced by jagged rocks and branches.

Determined though, he stood back up and limped in his continued search for the wizard, groaning in pain as he flipped over endless branches.
He clenched his claws as his efforts were worthless, grunting before screaming up at the sky in frustration as he coughed up blood, falling forward onto his face on his knees as he cried into the ground.

Spider, Mellori and Raven watched before both sulking.

"Their...their battle decimated the entire arena... What has their power done?!" Mellori choked up, standing, hunching in her own pain as she limped over to console Bat.

The hopes and heads of everyone were raised with the volume of a small familiar yipping of a small fox coming from a distance away.

Mellori and Bat rushed over despite their pain and injuries towards the sound in a concerned hurry.

Mellori went to her knees and dug through the rubble, pulling out the pet fennec fox to Ms. PixieHunter.
"Honey! You freaky lucky dog you're alive!"

Her happy moment was spoiled when bat let out a cry of distress at the top of his lungs.

"AMBER"

He spotted her just under and behind some rubble, pulling it apart and away before rushing to her, tripping and falling just before her, but crawling determined the rest of the way to her.

"Thank titans I found you!" He turned her onto her back, the lifeless limp movements of her head and arms starting to give him dread.
"A...Amber?"
He felt her bruised and cold face. "Amber..get up.."
She gave him no response, not even a flicker of life.

Bat hesitantly moved his large ear and head to her chest, listening for her heartbeat.
He winced in pain as he shut his eyes, not hearing a sound of life throughout her body. He only let loose a single tear against her chest before sitting straight, hoisting her lifeless limp body in his arms as he pressed his head into hers, just sitting there in still silence.

A dead silence now fell over everyone in the Maelstrom.

Mellori went to console him before Spider stopped her.

"Leave him be."He held her shoulders.

Mellori looked up at Spider then sadly over to the once stern and cold Bat, now a paralyzed and confused emotional mess sitting on his knees in silence; a dead girl in his arms, a dead hero.

"What have..we done.." Raven hung her head in shame, gripping her cane with all the force her feathery hands allowed.

A piercing scream of heartbreak rang out in the skies, Cinnabar, still in her husky wooden prison spotting her dead daughter, her youngest daughter; her dead baby.
Someone could almost hear the gurgle and strain of her lungs as the mother cried out for her baby girl, hanging her head as she wept loudly from her confines. With a last gurgle, she already tired her lungs out, wheezing as she struggled to cry out in pain, only giving a harsh dry crackle of her voice before going numb, raising her head slightly in a sad, tired and limp tilt as her tears drenched her face.

Her prison faded away, dropping her next to a brief struck Bartleby, who couldn't even open his eyes to look at the dead wizard.

Nothing.
