As I reached for my hood, my mind and soul switched off completely. My emotions went berserk, I didn't know how to feel exactly. I wish I could skip this part of the day and fast forward to the part where I say , " This day wasn't that bad after all". Hey, I might have a different color eye but not super powers .

I wasn't ready to show the world my vision but here I am being forced to. Something came to mind, a plan. It was stupid but it was worth a shot. The hood was eventually off completely and the whole class was shot with dead silence. Ms Garcia asked, "Uhm Mr Roy, if I'm correct ?" I replied, "Yes" and she said, " if I may ask, why are one of your eyes ..."and she drifted off. So much for the  plan being effective, but then again it was stupid plan after all. Ms Garcia asked again, " Roy open your eyes, there's no need to be afraid of. It's okay if you have stage fright, it's just your fellow class mates, nothing scary about that". Hmmm, if only she knew my situation. Where I stood these past stages of my life, how it felt to be different.

With my eyes closed, all I could hear were the whispers from my classmates and of course Ms Garcia's voice. I gave in, I had no choice, I just had to. Either way I would have to let them into my vision. Other teachers would've carried on the same way about my hood covering my face. I opened my eyes but one at a time. Starting with my right eye first we both know why then, "Both of em Mr Roy,  I want you to look at me with both your eyes sir". The moment I thought would never come to pass. Here I was thinking high school was about minding your own business and letting things pass. Funny hey, high school is the total opposite. Note to self: never believe movies again.

I opened my left eye and looked around. Everybody's face  changed in a instant. People pulled the weirdest faces but what was really funny is that they had the same face people gave me ever since I was just a kid after people discovered my situation. When  I turned to look at Ms Garcia, behind her was the girl from the bus. She stared at me. I heard whispering saying ," wow, is that actually his eye?" and "what the ?". And  don't forget the, " is it contagious?". Ms Garcia was struck by shock. I could tell by her facial expression that she had never in her life came across anyone like me.

Ms Garcia snapped out of shock and managed to quiet down the glass. " Mr Roy , you may put your hood back on" and she walked back towards her desk. I replied, "Thank you ma'am".  I  could feel my classmates staring at me, I just slowly placed my head down . The bell rang for the exchanging of classes and as I made my way to the door, Ms Garcia told me to stay behind. What else does she want? She already has blown my cover and I mean what could she possibly want right now? She sat in her seat with her hands folded, "Uhm listen here , I sincerely apologize about what happened earlier on. I didn't know that you're ....", I could tell in her eyes as well as her tone of voice that she felt guilty about what had happened and felt extremely bad about it. " That I'm different?". She kept avoiding eye contact with me and not because of how she felt but because she could not process the fact that my left eye was the first thing she could spot. " Yes and I'm not saying you're different like in a bad manner." I knew exactly where this was heading, sympathy.

The conversation become clichè and I could predict what she was going to say, so I ended the conversation. " Uhm ma'am, I'm going to be late for class..." I could tell that she felt relieved, "Oh , yeah you go to class." She didn't know what else to say but address the my situation but hey I'm way pass that. As soon as I came out her class, everyone stopped and looked at me. I didn't know if I should run or just do something just to get out of here, till I bumped into her .
