Part 24 - Mission Success

Crystal P.o.V.

My eyes were heavy. I couldn't move my hand as well. I was afraid that Hydra again got us. This time it would be nearly impossible to get us out of there. I would have to go through the same hell as we did for all of those previous years.

I slowly opened my eyes. I sat up little bit higher and scanned the room I was in. I recognize it. I am in Avengers Tower. So we made it! We're free!

But hold on where is everybody?

I looked at bed next to mine and I frost in fear. There was Amelie. She had lot of injuries. I looked around but there was nobody. Did they forgot about us?

- Jarvis? Are you there?! - I asked unsure. My throat was burning from thirst.

- Yes I am miss. How can I help you?

- What time is it?

- 2.30 in the morning. Do you want me to call Mr. Barnes?

- Yes could you please call him. But Jarvis?

- Yes Miss?

- Do not tell him I woke up. I want to surprise him when he comes in.

- Of course. I do as you wish Miss.

- And stop calling me miss I am Crystal.

- Of course Crystal.

I smiled and lay back down. I closed my eyes but did not fall asleep. I was thinking how much was I asleep? Did our mission was successful? Did everyone managed to get back here safely? How badly is Amelie injured?

I heard many footsteps on the corridor. They were rushing out way. I prepared myself just in case to protect Amelie while she is in coma. I did not moved I was listening of what is going on.

A lot of people entered the room. I heard someone slowly walking to me. I felt wolves presence. I calmed down its just an Avengers. Someone sat beside me and grabbed my hand.

- See they did not woke up just yet. - said Bucky - I think Jarvis must be broken.

- Its impossible. He is not a car to break. He clearly got command from someone to get here and passed that on to us.

- Who was that then? At this time all nurses and doctors are asleep so as Amelie and Crystal. There was nobody here who wouldn't get here without our knowledge otherwise Jarvis would call us about threat.

- I don't know Buck.

- How can't you don't know! You made this software and now you don't know how does it play jokes on us?!

- Buck darling stop shouting some people are trying to get rest in here. If you want to argue then leave and handle it outside. Let people get rest.

- Crystal darling!!

- Buck I am not death. You don't have to shout just next to my ear.

- I am so sorry. I love you so much baby. Don't do this ever again. You won't go on another mission alone without me. Not ever again.

- Did we succeed?

- You did. Apart of two of you nobody got any serious injuries.

- How is Amelie? - my question wiped away Tony's smile.

- She is good. She had more injuries than you. I don't know when she is going to wake up. Something hold her in her sleep. I can't wake her up until she will want me to.

- I think I know what may hold her in sleep.

- What?

- Her family. I think they speak with her. They did with me too. - I smiled and looked at Amelie peaceful face.

- I hope she wakes up soon.

- She will. I feel it. - I said it.

On another moment happened something unexpected. Amelie heat stopped. She was not breathing. I started to cry. I wanted her to be back. Stark quickly took right equipment and got them to her bed. He started to resuscitate her.

After a while they stopped. Her heart beat did not came back. She left. She's dead. I woke up and walked to her. Everyone looked at me. I grabbed her hand. Other touched her in her hands, legs and head. We all cried like a babies.

- You promised me! - I shout in despair. - You promised that you will never leave me when there is danger somewhere waiting to take me and others over! You said that you will protect us even if that means you will have to die. Even if you will have to gave your life away. You failed. You did not succeed in your mission. You said that you want our happiness. You said that you will always take care of us. You failed. You didn't keep your promises. You failed. - I was crying more.

I felt Amelie hand close on mine. Firstly it was gentle but with every moment it was becoming stronger and stronger. I looked at her with a smile and tears on my eyes. Her eyelids moved but did not open.

- Common Amelie you can do it. - I whispered. - Try harder. - I whispered again.

She opened her eyes suddenly. Clint and Sam jumped off because she scared them. She looked around and looked at me. She looked serious.

- I would never leave you. - she whispered. - I love all of you and I always be by your side. I would never leave when you are in danger. I am responsible for all of you. Never said that I failed. Sometimes I have to do something more to keep you all safe. - she lay her head on the pillow.

Entire pack fall on her and cried even more. She started to laugh even when she had breathing problems because all of us on her. When we stood us she took a deep breath and look at Tony. I saw love in her eyes.

- I love you Tony. I am so sorry that you thought I left. I could never do it to you. It is because I love you so much.

- I love you too Amelie. - he came closer and kissed her.

I was happy. I had everyone I loved all around me. I could never imagine anything better than that.
