“Housemates, to the lounge room,” Big Brother’s voice boomed through the speakers placed everywhere in the house. “Big Brother, has a surprise for you all.”
The lounge room television started playing and two sets of footage started playing simultaneously, both of girls. Writing started to come across the television screen, finally spelling the dreaded word Intruders.
About half of the contestants got up from the couch screaming with enthusiasms, the rest sat back and folded their arms with obvious discomfort at the situation.
The television went static and black quickly before Big Brother spoke again, “Would you like to meet your new housemates?”
Almost everyone yelled out “Yes Big Brother!”
The television started playing again, big white letters consuming the screen. Housemate One: Kimberley. A girl wearing almost all black covered in tattoos and few piercings with strikingly blonde coloured hair appeared on the screen. “I’m a tattoo apprentice, I live for the pain, it’s definitely my addiction. My friends would probably describe me as a bag of fun, crazy party-goer, but I’m there when it counts. I think the current housemates will probably like me, I tend to get on with everyone, but they may see me as a bit of a threat as well. Big Brother, throw whatever you want at me, I’ll throw it right back.” She pointed her fingers at the camera and pretended to shoot then blow the non-existent smoke from the end.
Housemate Two: Alexandra. A shorter brunette appeared on the screen, wearing a bright dress and a few visible tattoos with long manicured nails. “I’m an aspiring singer, but at university trying to pick a major. My friends would probably say that mentally I’m more of a guy, I’m really open and opinionated, and I’m the one to go to if you need a laugh or a deep and meaningful. The current housemates may like me, they may not, but they don’t define who I am, and I’m just here to have some fun, so bring it on.” She stood with her hands on her hips laughing loudly and then winked before the television once again went black.
“Housemates, it’s time. Make your way to the backyard, now.”
Everyone went to walk in front of the only entry and exit to the Big Brother house, and just waited. The double doors slowly opened, and there they stood, the intruders.
