Chapter 22 The Power of a Name

Eclipse's POV

I woke up to shouting in the distance and the dead air around me void of all mana. I then felt like I was laying on something soft I assumed Talia had taken advantage of my passed out stated and set me on her lap. I sat up only to find myself face to face with Talia.

"Wait if you're in front of me then who?" I turned to see the fox girl smiling at me while she sat on her legs. "Wait it was you?' I asked confused.

"Yes, my beloved." She said stunning me.

"Beloved?" I asked truing to look at Talia with the what the hell look.

"You saved her and in accordance with beastman law she is now legally married to you." Talia said hiding a smile.

I was rendered speechless then Jacob leaned down to my ear. "While that is true it is still your decision. But before you make a decision just know she is reincarnated." He told me.

"Fine I'll let I slide as long as she also a hears to my species law where we can have as many betrothed as we have soul mates." I said to her.

Her smile only grew. "I accept." She said without hesitating.

"Fine just know I gave you an out." I sighed then got up. "Do any of you know why there is no mana her?" I asked.

They all looked at each other than at me and at the same time said the same thing. "You."

"Fuck!" I shouted as I found the curse and deactivated it. The moment it deactivated the mana crashed in causing the trees around us to shake and a loud boom was heard.

"OWE!" We all shouted covering our ears.

"Give us a little warning next time!" The fox girl shouted with bleeding ears.

I felt a trickle down my ear as well. "Obviously I didn't know it would do that!" I also shouted compensating for my hearing loss. I then pulled out four healing potions. "Here this should restore our hearing!" I shouted then after they took theirs, I gulped mine and cringed at the taste. I felt my ear drums mend themselves. "Ah much better." I sighed finally able to hear.

We whipped away the blood that was dripping from our ears. We laid back letting our hearing realign itself, so we don't look drunk while we walked. Jacob got up too soon and staggered back to his ass as we laughed still not getting up from the ground. I then heard the shouts again several of my memories were nagging at me, but I couldn't place which past memory's they were. But still if was a memory then it wasn't good but since my eyes weren't reacting to it I tried to ignore the feelings of something crawling down my back.

"Hay when were finally able to walk do you want to head to town?" Talia asked.

My blood froze at the word's town. My mind slowly liked it to the shouting then the memories of every battle flooded my head. Woman and children screaming in horror as cities and towns burned. The disgusting faces of bandits at they picked at the remains. I no longer felt tired and bolted up in a panic confusing the others.

"THE TOWN IS UNDER SIGE!" I shouted then ran not looking at their faces but shortly after I heard their footsteps behind me trying to keep up.

I ran through the forest hearing the now recognizable war cries. I continued to run as trees whipped my body from head to toe. I ignored the stinging pain and I found a spot in the trees that had light shining through. I dashed for the spot ant burned thought the tree line to see the chaos of a siege. Some people were climbing ladders onto the wall while others were defending the walls and pushing the ladders back off the wall sometimes sending one of the men falling to their deaths. Others were launching magic and arrows at the opposing side none with accuracy but only one side did damage to their own troops. I looked at the attacking force and saw them all rugged and none of them had a theme which told me they were murderers' thieves and mercenaries. I looked to the wall and saw soldiers with iron armor flying a blue flag with a beautiful bird in white.
