Robert glanced over at Isabella, watching her fidget with her engagement ring, twisting it around her finger as she prepared for their night out. Adjusting his cufflink one last time, Robert stood up from where he was sitting on their bed and crossed the room.

"Everything will be fine honey. Try and relax." Robert whispered as he gently rubbed her shoulders, attempting to soothe her frazzled nerves.

Leaning back against his chest, Isabella sighed before answering. "I can't help it. Are you sure it's a good idea to tell them about the engagement now?"

Robert dug in deeper, working out the kinks a bit before answering. "Sweetheart, I know the original plan was to wait a few months before we told everyone, but I think that it would be better for us to do this now. Plus it's better that they find out from us instead if the media."

"I know, and I know you're right. I just don't want to deal with any of the drama right now. I just want to enjoy being engaged to the man I love before people start throwing their opinions at us. You already know that my family has been skeptical since we first started seeing each other, and I want them to realize that this is forever."

"They are just going to have to accept that this is forever whether they like it or not. I love you, and I want to marry so therefore it is going to happen. I know that you want everyone at the wedding, but if they can't accept us then they can't come."

Isabella knew Robert was right, but it still didn't keep her from worrying. Though she had been dating Robert for over four years, and living with him for almost as long, her family still seemed shocked every time Isabella reminded them that that she was not single and in fact in a relationship.

Her twin sister, Mariella, and her husband, Jason, had decided to invite her and Robert to dinner, but apparently they had invited the whole family. She tried to get out of it at first, but then her sister had started complaining about how she didn't spend enough time with them. Isabella had given in, though she'd rather spend her weekend off alone with Robert, and just celebrate their engagement some more.

Remembering this little tidbit, Isabella perked up and turned to Robert with a coy smile. "Baby, I've got an even better idea. Why don't we skip this dinner, and just celebrate our engagement. We've only been engaged for a day, and..." Isabella trailed off, placing tiny kisses along Robert's jaw line. Robert let out a deep growl before leaning down and capturing Isabella's lips with his own. Isabella whimpered as he nibbled on her bottom lip, heat pooling in her center. She wrapped her arms around Robert's neck and pulled him closer as he delved into the sweetness of her mouth.

With a groan, Robert pulled away, though his lips remained hovering over hers. "Sweetheart, as much as I would love to skip dinner with your family," he paused briefly, taking a moment to nibble again on Isabella's lips and then kissed a heated trail up to her ear, "and spend our weekend together in this bed with you, we already told your sister that we will be there," Robert paused again to trace the shell of Isabella's ear with the tip of his tongue, causing shivers to shimmy up and down Isabella's spine. Eventually he pulled away slightly, his breath tickling her ear as he continued, "You know your sister- if we skip out on this dinner, we will never hear the end of it."

Knowing he was right, Isabella gave Robert one last peck on the lips before turning back to her vanity to finish getting ready. Robert in turn placed a kiss on her hair before grabbing his jacket and heading downstairs to the living room to wait and catch up on some Sports Center before they left. Fiddling with her hair one last time, Isabella gave her lips a quick swipe of gloss before getting up to join Robert. While Isabella grabbed her wrap from the back of the couch, Robert flipped off the TV and slipped into his own jacket. Isabella waited while Robert locked up their house before following him out to the car.
