26- HOW'S IT THAT YOU'RE ALIVE?
"I can't believe that man! Three tests in a week?" Lucas complained as he sat opposite me on our lunch table. Yeah, Lucas Sterling, 'blonde-oh-drummer' suddenly decided he no longer liked his old table and that that of Cece and I was much better.
I agreed with him.
Those people on his table were more or less like the bullies and since he seemed to have a 'fallout' with them for standing up to them whenever they talked bad about me on his table, that table hadn't been so comfortable for him.
I didn't even know them but according to Lucas, they seemed to be sort of obsessed with me. Apparently, I was a pretty unique slave since I hadn't suffered like the previous ones.
Only if they knew Caleb's true plans for me!
Anyway, I wasn't complaining because Lucas was cool and we got along well. I mean, this guy helped me in handling Ol'Drew whom I hadn't seen for the past three days. I just hoped he isn't planning to bail on us on the school's eighteenth anniversary. It isn't something he isn't capable of!
"Don't be so lazy." Cecilia said in reply to Lucas. He huffed.
"I'm not! Mr Lee is just mea-" Lucas was saying before he got interrupted by a voice.
"Hey guys!" Came a chirpy voice. I looked up from my fries to see Crystal Hart hovering over our table with a goofy grin on her face, a tray of food in her hands. Then Shayne O'Connor emerged from behind her, wearing a similar grin, also holding a lunch tray. Oh oh!
"Hey Samuel!" I glared at him as they both took their seats on either side of Lucas and opposite Cece and I.
"Hi, I'm Crystal." Crystal said to me. "I'm assuming you already know that." I nodded, smiling a little.
"I'm Sam. Samantha!" I emphasized, which made Shayne chuckle. Which made me glare at him.
"Hey Cecilia." Crystal smiled.
"Hey twinnie!" Cecilia said, returning the smile. I almost did a double-take. The Cecilia I know is kinda 'blush and quiet' around other people! And Twinnie? The two must have been really close.
"Similar hair color." Cecilia said to me when she realized I was staring at her. Shayne chuckled and I noticed her tense a bit.
Which reminded me that this blessed son called Shayne is her BULLY!
Oh he's in deep trouble!
"Er- Not to sound mean but what are you two actually doing here?" I asked, my eyes darting between the visitors.
"Ouch." Came Shayne's voice. "We own this school, you know." I scoffed.
"Duh! This is our table! We didn't ask for attention!" I said, gesturing to the now staring student body. "Lucas, back me up here."
"Er- Well, you see-"
"What did you say, Lucas?" Crystal grinned sweetly.
"Hm-hm" The blondie cleared his throat before speaking, or rather mumbling! "I- er-hm"
