i get back to my dorm after a long day of school work. there is another letter at my door. now what could this one be?

Dear Caroline Grey - soon to be Sage -,

We are informing you on certain events coming up in your schedule. You're not allowed to skip them!
Date #1 (September 1st)
Date #2 (September 8th)
Meet the Family Dinner! (September 11th)
Wedding Planning #1 (September 19th)
Date # 3 (September 28th)

Sincerely,

Your loving mother and father.

oh for the love of god! my parents truly are planning it all. looks like i have a date tonight. i'll be honest, i'd like to actually talk to Houston and get to know him. but it feels so forced and wrong, like we're supposed to fall in love but really it's all arranged. i don't know what to think. my life is officially going down hill from here. it was supposed to be job, love, marriage, children not marriage, job, then who the hell knows. i decide to walk over to Julianna's apartment. i knock on the door and she quickly answers.
---------
"ok so you're telling me that your parents are planning the dates as well?" Juli question.

"yes, i don't know if Houston thinks of the date ideas though." i tell her.

"well looks like we've got to get you ready for a date." she grins. my phone buzzes, i pick it up and see that it's a text from Houston.

Houston: i suppose you received a letter of dates to schedule. turns out we have a date tonight, dinner at seven?

Caroline: sounds like a plan. where should we meet?

Houston: come to my dorm when you're ready. room 420

Caroline: i'll be there!

"dinner date at seven." i tell Jules. she nods her head and runs to the closet. i hear a bunch of hangers being moved around. then she runs back out holding a dress. it was a yellow, lacy, maxi dress with a plunging v neck and lots of embroidery.
"oh that's lovely. good choice Jules."
i slip on the dress and some tan sandals to match. Julianna curled my gold blonde hair slightly so it had some wave to it. i didn't apply loads of makeup. only mascara, bronzer, powder, blush, brow gel, and a cherry chapstick would do. i used a little extra perfume, knowing that i would be attending an important event. quite quickly, i was already to leave. Julianna looked at my with a pouty face. then she hugged me. "aw my best friend is going on a date with her arranged future husband. so unromantic, yet definitely magical." she releases from the hug and allows me to leave. "good luck sweet Caroline!"

"thank you Jules!" i shout at her, as im already half way down the hall.

i make my way a to the fourth floor of the dorm building. it was quite similar to a mansion, there being floors of multiple large rooms. i walk down the hallway searching for room 420.
405, 410, 415, and at last 420. i knock on the door a few times and wait. an unfamiliar face opens the door. he had dark brown, nearly black hair. the eyes the same.
"is Houston here?" i asked the stranger at the door.
"yeah he's just fixing his hair. i'm guessing you're Caroline? i've heard quite a bit about you. come in." i walk inside of his dorm. it was decorated with only black and white. possibly a hint of color here and there.

"what's your name?" i ask him.

"Carter Weston. i'm Houston's buddy. we've known eachother since pre k." he says.
"that's nice." i look around the room and notice a little kitten sitting on the bed. it was an orange tabby cat.

"Houston has a cat?" i ask Carter and laugh.
"he does, it's quite odd but his name is Sunshine and he's the friendliest kitten you'll ever meet." i sit down on the bed and hold out my hand to the little orange cat. the kitten approached my welcoming hand and stroked its head against it.
"he likes you." Houston stands leaning against the threshold of the door to his room. Houston wore a grey long sleeve sweater type shirt and blackish jeans. the sleeves of the shirt were pushed up and he wore dark brown boots. his hair was parted to the side. it looked soft. his eyes were so bright, yet they had this innocent look to them. it looked like there were hints of silver and grey close to the pupil. his lips were pale pink and plump. his cheeks and nose were blushed and freckled. this boy has such young, sweet qualities, but he seems like a badass and seductive man. after meeting Houston, following the conversation with our parents and headmaster, i got to understand his personality. kind, thoughtful, understanding, stubborn, and slightly poetic. he is quite the stud.

"you're staring." i snap out of my day dream and look at Houston: a smirk was plastered to his face.

"ugh how could i not! you put me in absolute awe with your perfect mis-matched socks." my grin turning into child-like laughter. Houston looks down at his ankles. he forgot roll his jeans down.

"poka-dots and dogs always go good together!" he laughs and fixes his jeans.

"y'all are disgusting. get a room." Carter laughs.

"Carter!" Houston and i both say. he walks out of the room laughing. "have fun!" he says.

"this is not a date." i say pointing at Houston.
"right. it's a get-to-know-your-arranged-future-wife or husband. we are acquaintances." he says.
"ok. yes. just acquaintances." i repeat.
"ok, let's go." Houston opens the door for me and we walk out of the building to begin our acquaintance date.
