SEPTEMBER 6TH, 2016.

"Cassie, my legs are starting to hurt..Are we almost there?" A voice calls me, wailing quite loudly. "We'll be able to make a stop soon, don't you worry." I exhale, turning to see the young boy studying me with his myrtle eyes. The young boy I adore. He stands upright, his fair hair dangling just over his eyes, as it is quite obvious it hasn't been brushed in days. He wears his reflective jacket on, which he can't leave the house without, and his grey jeans, however the holes were  bigger from the last time I had actually took notice in them. "For fucks sake..Have you been pulling at them holes on your jeans?" I raise my right bushy brow with a groan. Tommy rolls his eyes to the back of his head. "It's the style to have big rips in your jeans, all the boys at school have it like that.." he mutters. ''Ah, does someone here want to fit in?'' I tease at him. "Look, why don't we play a game? We can play 'who can be the quietest for the longest?'" I peer at him, folding my frail arms. "I'm gonna win!" He beams a smile, and mimes him zipping his mouth shut, and throwing away the key. I smirk, walking onwards.

It has been days since we saw anyone. Since the- I don't even know what to call it. Well, to call Them. I have only encountered a few of Them, and don't want to meet anymore any time soon. I don't even know where we were heading to. I just had to get out of the chaotic city. It was horrible. Terrorising. I couldn't imagine of what Tommy thought of it all. He was so concerned about his teddy bear. That fucking teddy bear, nearly caused us death. He loves it to pieces, no idea why. He has had it since he was about five, I had won it for him at the annual school fair that they use to hold each year..

I look down the path into the nothingness. It's like I'm in the movie 'Labyrinth', at the beginning were the girl is walking the down path, it never ending. There had to be somewhere we could go.. I look through the forest edges, trying to get a sense of the area we are in. Bringing my eyes back upwards, a single twig snaps behind us.

My ears from under my brunette shoulder length hair twitch, the sound echoing into the deafening silence. As I come to a immediate halt, my unknowing brother keeps his pace. I gulp, the words wanting to break free from my mouth but not being able to. ''God Cassie, you're such a slow coach-'' he turns his body, a playful grin on his lips. His eyes drift, his smug expression being completely wiped off his face. A pale colour paints over him, his breathing changing to a frantic panic. If possible his eyes have gone wider, the fear being shown on his face.

Before my brain could tell me otherwise, I too turn my body to see what he saw. To see what has made my sibling turn into a statue. To see what took the life out of him. My eyes too widen, understanding everything. Like slotting the final piece into a puzzle.

Here before us stands a wild animal, it's back raises high and it's head low.  The eyes to it are wide, ears flat and a vibrating growl deep from inside it's chest could be heard from miles away. The Dog's fur were a chestnut colour, ranging all over it's obese body. His paw's are spread out and the nails on the thing are sharp, very sharp, so sharp it could slice the tension in this very moment. From behind me my brother's breath were shaky, and I could tell his lips are trembling, him ready to burst into a waterfall of tears in any second.

The dog spotted this, the growling intensifying.

''Keep calm, Thomas.'' I spit into the cold air. ''Don't move.'' I inhale, my collar bone becoming defined. I have to do something. I have to do something. I kept repeating this to myself. I bring my knee's down to the ground, my black jeans getting muddy. My hand feels around on the ground, while I keep my eyes on the dog, watching it's every move. The dog was stuck on my brother, obsessing over him. I feel something in the ground, a large wooden stick. I turn my head towards it, my eyes moving off the dog for a split second. I pick the stick up and-

''C A S S A N D R A ~'' The scream went through my body, me loosing my breath. I didn't want to turn around and see the mess that has happened. The mess which I have caused once more. I gulp, clutching the stick and I rotate my body...
