Huffing. Huffing. My feet scrape against the rough earth has my strength depleting. My cape runs behind me and continuously tears from the branches and brambles around me. I feel his presence behind me barely touching my shoulder. Forcing myself faster I get more cuts and scratches. I felt him grab my cape by the hood.
"Agh."
I feel him push my hood forward and his hand crashes into my back. I felt my chest bounce against the hard ground when I land. I pulled in a deep breathe trying to regain the air I lost so suddenly.
"Were going back to Westwood."
"Hmph"
Turning over I kicked him in the stomach and watched him fly up. Pouncing up I ran faster than I was. He wont be done yet.
My feet ached as the rocks and sticks raised upwards to the sky, like they themselves were trying to stop me.
I couldnt let him catch me. He would drag me right back. With adrenaline coursing threw me, I launched myself into the air to try and make the distance between us longer. My feet still ached but im thankful for the small relief.
As soon as my feet touch the ground, my ankles collapsed under me. I felt tears drip down my cheeks.
Biting my lip hard. Getting back up i take another step and stumble into a black abyss. Rolling onto a sharp rock then a thicket of brambles.
Not able to hold it back anymore, I let my screams and cries leak out. I felt someone grab my cape and pull me out of the brambles into a cave-like area.
"Poor child. Close the gate!"
The rattles of chains behind me churned and a big thump made me jump up. My knees shook and barely held me. "Give her to me now!" I hear him curse the woman and him shake the gate.
"Its demon proof." the woman laughed agonizingly. He glared and shrank away from the gate. The woman who pulled me into the cave still held me.
"I think not"
Looking up at whoever spoke and growled.
"Let go."
My voice went deeper. I press my hand against her head and slam my opposite elbow into her temple. She fell sideways and held where i struck her.
"Contain her"
I growled. Hearing a whistle and a rush of pain. I touched where it had hit me and yanked it out. I felt something hard hit me in the back of my head again. This time no whistle, instead I became extremely dizzy from the blow. My head swayed, and with my last strength. I held myself up and looked at my capturers before falling forward.
