Under The Stars

Chapter 2

I felt something warm gently touch my shoulder. A sweet scent invaded my nose and I stayed still, pretending to be 'asleep'.

"Poor thing. She looks like she just went through hell and back." A woman's voice broke through the silent air. I recognized it to belong to my Aunt Sarah. I quickly fell back into a dreamless sleep ignoring what was going on around me. Until I heard a small soft voice that belonged to a very familiar sweet little girl.

"Raven?"

I immediately woke up and looked for the Concerned little girl. As soon as I spotted her I let out a small sigh of relief.

"Where is aunty Rose and uncle James? Where's Nakita?" She asked with a sweet innocent voice. The names of my deceased family brought tears to my eyes. I fought them back and sat up motioning for Annabell to come sit on my lap. I started of in a very soft voice trying hard not to cry.

"Sweetie, they aren't here anymore."

"What do you mean Raven?"

"They are with the stars now sweetheart."

"You mean in heaven?"

"Yea, and our hearts."

"Why did they leave?"

"They didn't leave little one. Someone took them from us. And god thought it was their time to go join him and the rest of our family that is in heaven."

"Didn't they love us?"

"Oh sweatpea they loved us very very very much. They just couldn't stay any longer."

"Can we still visit them?"

"Not yet darling. Maybe one day, when god thinks its our time to join him in the stars."

"Like grandpa Paul and grandma Chelsy?"

"Yea, like grandpa Paul and grandma Chelsy." I replied a soft smile on my lips.

"Why are you here alone?"

"Because I have to move in with you guys. So I'll be around a lot more."

"Your living with us now!?" She asked starting to get exited.

"Yea."

"And your gonna stay?"

"Course I will little one."

"Forever?"

"Forever."

"Promise?"

"I promise." I replied and locked my pinky with her smaller one rubbing our noses together. She giggled and I let out a light laugh. She jumped up and wrapped her small arms around my neck and my larger ones wrapped around her small figure. I closed my eyes and rubbed her back as she hugged me as tight as she could.

"Annabell! How bout we let Raven get used to her new home yeah?" Sarah asked and I noticed she was in the room. I stood up and let little Anna down. She ran out of the room giggling an 'okay mommy!' along the way. Will walked in and smiled at me.

"I hope you don't mind but I was gonna let you stay in the top of the barn. I know how you girls like your space, so I cleaned it up and installed more electricity, heating, plumbing. I also installed some insulation in the walls to keep it warm. The floors where redone so its now hard wood and there's a ton of paint in there so you can fix your room up." He said while he was leading me outside, to the barn.

As he led me up the stairs I gasped lightly.

"Thank you so much Uncle Will." I replied as I hugged him tightly. He laughed lightly and hugged me back.
