I turn the screen off again. Sayori must be on her way to the club by now. I walk to my piano and sit on the stool, practicing my 'melody.' I put three keys together and leave a key in between each other key I'm pressing, and I immediately get surprised about how good it sounds. What do they call these things again? I think they call it a chord. Yeah, a chord. I do this with multiple different notes, making one start it off, and put three together, leaving one in between each other one. I smile. I feel like I'm getting a little bit better, but I'm still not that good at playing yet.
Whoosh.
The darkness fades away again, and I'm outside the clubroom, in the hallway. I see Andre make his way into the clubroom, and the door shuts behind him. I soon follow.
I walk in and everyone else is here. Why am I always last?
"Aw man." I say, "I'm the last one here again!"
"Don't worry, I just walked in too." Andre says.
I chuckle a little bit. I know.
"Were you practicing piano again?" Yuri asks.
It's a little weird seeing her after knowing her "unusual hobby." I'm also shocked about how she can manage to hide the cut on her thigh with her skirt.
"Yeah." I admit, and chuckle. I smile faintly to myself. At least I wasn't lying this time.
"You must have a lot of determination." Yuri says.
What is she talking about? I don't have any determination at all!
"Starting this club, and now picking up piano," Yuri continues.
I wish I could thank her, but it was the game that made me be the president of the club. And the game that made me have this "story line" of starting piano. Not that I don't like playing at all.
"Well maybe not determination," I say, "But I guess passion. Remember that the club wouldn't be here if it wasn't for all of you. And, I'm super happy that you're all willing to help out for the festival too!"
"Aaah, I can't wait for the festival!" Natsuki exclaims. "It's gonna be great."
"Eh?" I ask, confused, "Weren't you just complaining about it yesterday, Natsuki?"
"Well yeah," she answers, "I'm not talking about our part of the festival. But it's a whole day of school where we get to play and eat all kinds of delicious food."
Really? I didn't know the festival was this diverse! Oh, just face it, the festival isn't even real.
"You sound a bit like Sayori all of a sudden." Andre says.
What? She doesn't sound like Sayori at all. In fact she sounds like the opposite of Sayori.
"Monika! Do they usually have fried squid?" Natsuki asks.
Squid? Why would they have squid? I never even been to the festival before! I don't know!
"Squid?" I say, repeating my thought out loud, "That's a pretty specific thing to look forward to."
"Oh come on!" Natsuki says, "Are you saying you don't like squid? You of all people?"
"Eh? I didn't say I didn't like it." I say, "Besides, what do you mean by 'you of all people'?"
"Because!" Natsuki says, "It's right in your name! Mon-ika."
I become confused. What does that mean? Since all the movie theaters play anime, which probably makes this game set in Japan, then maybe ika means squid in Japanese?
