Liyah

So today is the day that we're leaving for New York. Looking around at my now half empty room, I can't believe I'm moving. Today starts a whole new life, new friends, new school, new everything. Honestly, I don't know if I'm ready for this.

Hearing a knock on my door, pausing my thoughts.

"Yeah?"

"I thought I'd come see you on your last day here."

Turning around I saw James with a bouquet of red roses, my favorite.

"Aww James. I really needed this right now." I sniffled.

Grabbing the flowers, James pulled me into a tight, long hug.

"I'm gonna really miss you man" James.

"Me too. I'll make sure to call you as soon as I land, ok?"

He smiled, "Alright beautiful."

This was going to be the last time for a while that I see him. Why not make it special.

I slowly leaned in, pressing our lips together. We slowly kissed, feeling all the love and passion we have for each other. Pulling away, I slowly backed up.

He looked at me with passion in his eyes, "I love you."

I smiled, "I love you too."

And with that it was time for me to leave.

"Welcome you New York babyyy!!" Mia screamed.

"Girl we just got here and from the way these people looking at you, we already not welcome."

"Aww they'll love me."

"We'll see."

Right now Mia and I decided to get some pizza and chat before going to the new house.

Sitting down eating,I looked around.

"What's up? You been quiet every since we got here."

"Just sad."

"Girl you gotta cheer up. Come on we live in New York, new friends, new experiences, niggas calling you shawty."

I laughed, shaking my head, "Play too much."

"But I'm serious you gotta let Atlanta go, we in Manhattan now."

I looked around, "We sure do."

Now back at the house, I sat on the couch watching tv.

"Hey ma, why didn't we move to The Bronx?" I heard Terrell ask my mom.

"Because dad's new job is out here."

"Mann Bronx is where all the honey's at."

"And how do you know that?" I asked.

"Cuz that's where my baby Cardi from duhh."

I shook my head, this boy is something else.

"Boy go upstairs somewhere." My mom said.

He shook his head, going up the stairs. "Always tryna cock block."

"Boy don't make me come beat yo ass."

He smacked his lips, "I said always tryna clock lock ma, its a song."

I laughed, "Lying ass."

"Shut up."

Moments like this remind me that where ever I am, I'll always have my family with me.
