One step
All this took was one step, and she plummeted. Her senses are making sad attempts to reform but everything is a blur, every sound, every sight, every smell. As fuzzy as the grass beneath her.
'De get up. We have to keep going.'
The voice was like her own, but with a strange twist she can't really describe. She just barely manages to support herself on her hands and knees as her gaze travels around the area. The stream that caught her, the river that carried her, both loud but still extremely fuzzy. That is, until some of the cold water hits her pale arm, waking the girl up instantly.
With wide eyes she starts screaming while covering the sensitive ears. It hurts, it hurts too much to keep going. The rushing water pounding against every rock, all of the little vibrations radiating through her like a speaker set to one hundred. She begins to stumble everywhere, struggling to stand at this point with the agony the body's in.
She can't take it.
"We need to switch! W-We need to switch!"
Tears stream down, blowing into the river with the rest of the unforgiving water before the clearness begins to grow little hints of red. The long black locks grow to white and turn into beautiful curls as well. Slowly the pain stops and she can catch her breath. "We're not going this way..Ever again..."
The girl looks over to the bow little ways away, getting back to a steady stance and walking over. It's not damaged, thank God, but definitely needs a good cleaning. She shakes her head before picking it up and starting her trek back home.
A shadowed figure close behind.
