“Luke!!! Let me explain, please?” I yelled knocking on the door, “I need to talk to you, we need to talk about this”
“Maddie, I don’t want to talk. Go away before I leave this place!!!”
I closed my eyes and fell to the floor, this meant so much to me and keeping this relationship a secret it something that needed to be done. It wasn’t just my relationship with Luke and Jai that I didn’t want to jeopardise but the fact that he has fans sitting there as we speak thinking about him. If they were to find anything out, everything would be over. It would no longer be “our” relationship it would be everyone relationship. There would be fights, there would be hate, love but most of all every decision and thing we do would be reflected on and judged. If things where ever to end I know I would lose any support I had from his fans and everything would go upside down. Now Luke knows, he has the power to do anything. I trust him with my life and I doubt he would tell anyone else but I think I have hurt him, we have hurt him. When I first moved in with the Brooks boys and Gina we all made a promise, family forever, no lies and no secrets. Luke held onto this the most, he was bullied so badly in primary school and so was Jai. When they were younger their father left them and I don’t want to get into any details but every day they would go to school just trying to get an education and away from their family life and they would be tormented. They would be bullied and picked on, lunch taken of them, they would be victimised in the playground and no matter what the teachers would say it continued. I remember one afternoon Jai was crying and I asked him why, it was father’s day and everyone was sharing stories and bringing their dad into class so they could all have a father’s day picnic. When Luke and Jai new right away they had no one to take they brought the Nonno, even though there Nonno was there the bullying didn’t stop. Kids would go up to the boys and say “hahaha where’s your dad hey? Did he die? Or did he leave you because he didn’t love you.” It hit the boys so hard and now gaining either of their trust is hard. After realizing Luke wasn’t going to come out anytime soon I stood up and walked back down stairs. When I got to the bottom step I saw Jai and Daniel sitting on the couch and Beau walking into the kitchen. I gave Jai a hug and Daniel a high five and followed Beau, he sat on the kitchen bench fiddling with an empty cup.
“Babe, what’s going on?” He asked putting the cup next to him.
“I don’t know, I tried talking but he won’t listen. I guess we have to wait and pray he doesn’t tell anybody.”
Walking towards him with a half-smile on my face, I saw in his eyes he was scared. He was scared to lose me, scared to lose his brother. He loved us both so much and this; this was something we both didn’t need. I embarrassed him in my arms and kissed his cheek, “Things will work out, I promise”. We stood there hugging for a good ten minutes until Jai called out to me for some food. I let Beau go and went to the fridge, “Oi Jai! There are apples, chocolate and toast. You pick?” I said yelling towards the lounge room.
“Ummm could you make us a ham sandwich before we go to the gym?” He replied.
“Yeah, I guess so. Is Luke going with you boys today?”
“I think so, if he doesn’t I will be pretty pissed because Mr Daniel here is the laziest shit I have ever met!” Jai replied quickly dodging Daniel hit him.
Jai and Daniel finished their TV show before going up stairs to get changed, Beau came up behind me slid his hands around my waist and held me tight. I bit my lip and turned my head slightly towards him, “Babe,” he whispered into my ear, “I Love you so much, I will be here for you no matter what and this, this is just a small bump we have to climb over. But we can do it, together.” I turned around and kissed him, not caring if anyone saw us and not caring if I cut him off mid-speech. Beau and I are finally going to do this, even if it ends badly I guess we are going to tell everyone. After we have sorted out this family business, I guess the next thing we should do is tell the fans but right now, right now it’s only me and him. He kissed me back, picked me up and placed me on the bench. His hands slid down my back as our lips intertwined. Our bodies came together just like that, it was that easy to get lost in him and I felt maybe this was it. I was about to lift my shirt off when I heard a noise. Someone upstairs, I don’t know if it was a scream or a moan but I jumped off the bench and ran upstairs. As I reached the top of the stairs Beau was right behind me, I saw Jai staring into his room with confusion on his face.
“What is it Jai?” I asked running up behind him.
“He.. He, he’s gone.” He replied pointing at the blood trail leading towards the open window.
