Hard at first ( Keith X Jayme )

Chapter Eight

Keith's POV
Once i got Jayme out of Red, Pidge ran over and hugged her. I kept my distance to let them talk. Shiro came over to me, "so she wanted a kiss" i felt my face heat up "Yeah, i was a little surprised when she said that" he just laughed "She's straight forward, for the most part" I chuckled "Now your telling me" I felt someone jump on my back and i held them up. "Yay! I told you he wouldn't drop me Pidge!" I looked up at Jayme and smiled "having fun?" I asked and she nodded holding onto me. Shiro shook his head at his sister "Are you sure you're 19? You act like you're 12" she laughed a little "Are you sure you're only 22? You act at least 37" she jumped off my back and ran off, Shiro smiled and ran after her. I just laughed at them then went to the lounge. "Heh, i'm more tired then i thought i was" i said to myself as I plopped onto the couch. I laid down, hearing Jayme and Shiro run through every now and then, both of them laughing. I smiled and closed my eyes.

Jayme's POV
"You'll never catch me!" I say to Shiro as he chases me. I run into the lounge but stop when i see Keith sleeping on the couch. I turned and told Shiro to be quiet before walking over to Keith. I knelt down next to the couch, gently moving his hair out of his face. I felt someone tap my shoulder, i looked up at Shiro who handed me a blanket. I took it mouthing a thank you. He nodded before walking away. I put the blanket over Keith and kisses his forehead. I was about to walk away when i felt him grab my wrist. He looked up at me sleepily. "Baby...lay down with me" he said, almost like a child. I sighed and laid down next to him, with him holding me close so I didn't fall off the couch. "Now get some sleep, you look exhausted" i said he smiled and fell asleep again. I just watched him for a bit. I felt so safe and happy when he was around, and he looked so peaceful and relaxed when he slept. I snuggled close to him, letting him know I wasn't going anywhere. Soon enough though i felt myself falling asleep as well. I looked at him once more before my eyes shut completely.

~few hours later~
I was shaken awake along with Keith. "Guys come on!" It was Lance who was shaking us. I sat up "What is it Lance?" I asked rubbing sleep from my eyes. "The castle's freaking out, and the heat and air conditioner broken, and there's only cold air blowing in the vents, you guys haven't noticed?" He asked, i just realized he was wearing two jackets while Keith and i were still in T-shirts. "Well no, I'm actually still warm" Keith pointed out and i nodded in agreement. "That's probably because you two were cuddling" he said and i giggled "Probably" That's when i got the suddenly chill and shivered. I stood up. "Shiro suggested we stay in our rooms while Allura and Corran work on the problem. Since they are more familiar with the castle" Lance told us and i nodded. "I'll do that" I quickly walked away and to my room, i went to shut the door but Keith stopped it. "I'm not letting you freeze alone" he said before sitting down on the bed. I sat down next to him. "You didn't have to come sit with me" i said as i set my head on his shoulder. "I know, but it seemed like fun" he said before looking at me and asking "do you want to get under the covers" i just nodded and we both got under the blankets, me staying close to him. "You're really warm Keith" I pointed out and he just smiled "guess i'm your heater then" i made sure to keep close because he was really warm, i was starting to wonder if he was getting sick but he assured me he was fine. I closed my eyes. "Wake me up when dinner is ready or the heat and air conditioning is fixed" i told him and he just nodded. I was about to fall asleep when i heard a gentle humming. I felt myself smile as i listen to him and fall asleep.

Keith's POV
Once i knew she was asleep i just hummed to myself. I didn't really feel the cold, but apparently i was really warm. I didn't realize how close Jayme was, i blushed but held her close. About 2 hours passed before Hunk came into the room. "Hey Keith, is Jayme up?" I shook my head "Okay well the heat is finally fixed along with the AC and it's fend for yourself for food tonight" he told me and i just nodded "Okay, thank you" he smiled and left. I went to get up, heard a small growl before i got pulled closer to Jayme. "Babe" i said and she mumbled "I'm gonna go train okay" she let me go and i got up, sneaking away to the kitchen to make her something to eat, along with my self a snack before training. I took the plate to her room and left it on her nightstand with a note before heading to the training deck. I smiled seeing it empty. Knowing I wouldn't be disrupted i took off my shirt and got ready. The training simulation lasted a good hour before i was almost shot by Lance. I looked at him. "What is you're problem Lance!" I snapped at him, the simulation ending. "Nothing just the fact that you stole me girl" i shook my head "What do you mean stole her, she picked me" he growled and stepped towards me "No you did some kind of magic spell on her made her fall for you" he seemed to believe his stupid story. I saw movement by the door but ignored it as Lance came closer. "Lance that's a stupid story you made up to make yourself feel better" i stood my ground showing I wasn't afraid of him. "Is it really Keith? Really?" He pointed his gun at me "Hey put that thing down! If you want to fight no weapons" i said and he happily  put his bayard down and i did the same. He threw the first punch when I wasn't looking and tripped me. I quickly got up and punched him in the stomach, knocking the wind out of him before i knocked him to the floor and pinned him. "I win, Lance, back off" he growled and kicked me off. I was still on my feet but he threw a quick left hook and it hit my nose, it didn't break but it was bleeding. He then kicked my knee causing it to buckle and send me down. He kicked me again in the stomach sending me down and he kept kicking me, uttering cruses at me. Someone ran in and grabbed him but everything was going so slow. I heard her though "Lance what the hell is wrong with you?!" I heard what sounded like a slap before seeing her in front of me "Keith? Keith, look at me baby" i looked at her but black spots filled my vision. I coughed and spit something out, I don't know what though. Last thing i saw was her in tears begging me to look at her and stay awake, but I couldn't.
