The school bell rang and I burst out the door, Bill, Eddie and Mike flanking me as we pushed through the hall.

"So it's like this church full of Jews, right? And Stan has to take this, like, super Jew-y test and-" Eddie explained.

"But how's it work?" Bill asked.

Eddie swung his arms and looked us dead in the eyes. "They slice the tip of his dick off."

"But then Stan'll have nothing left!" Richie joked.

"Yeah." Bill laughed.

I rolled my eyes.

"Wait up you guys!" Stan grabbed Eddie and I by the shoulders, slowing us down a bit.

"Hey Stan, what happens at the bar mitzvah anyways?" I asked, letting Stan squeeze between Eddie and I.

"Ed says they slice the tip of your d-d-d-dick off." Bill added.

"Yeah, I think the Rabbi's gonna pull down your pants. Turn to the crowd and say 'Where's the penis?'" Richie said, grinning.

Stan rolled his eyes. "At the bar mitzvah, I read from the Torah and then I make a speech and suddenly I become a man."

"I can think of funner ways to become a man." Richie snorted.

"More fun, you mean?" I corrected.

We became silent as we passed Henry and his pals. They were the biggest assholes I knew. I shuddered when I saw Patrick smile and lick his lips as we passed.

"Think they'll sign my yearbook? Dear Richie, sorry for taking a hot, steamy dump in your backpack last month. Have a great summer!" Richie asked, adjusting his glasses.

I sighed as we continued out the school. The 7 P.M. curfew sign glared back at me as we made our way to the garbage cans. We all pulled off our backpacks and dumped the contents into the trash, where it belonged.

"Best. Feeling. Ever." Stan declared.

"Yeah? Try tickling your pickle for the first time." Richie suggested, zipping his empty bag up.

"Hey, what do you guys wanna do tomorrow?" Eddie asked.

"Start my training." Richie replied, fixing his glasses again.

"What training?" Eddie sounded confused.

"Street Fighter." Richie answered.

"Is that how you wanna spend your summer? Inside of an arcade?" Eddie asked.

"Beats spending it inside of your mother." Richie retorted, raising his hand to Stan for a high-five.

"What if we go to the quarry?" Stan suggested, pushing Richie's hand away.

"Guys, we have the b-b-b-barons." Bill reminded.

Richie looked away and Eddie nodded slowly. I gulped, scared of what we might find there.

"Betty Ripsom's mom." Eddie commented, looking towards a Mrs. Ripsom.

We all turned and stared.

"Does she really expect to see her come outta that school?" Stan asked.

"I dunno. As if Betty Ripsom has been hiding in Home Ed for the last four weeks." Eddie replied.

"You think they'll actually find her?" I wondered.

"Sure. In a ditch. All decomposed, covered in worms and maggots, smelling like Eddie's mom's underwear." Richie answered.

"Shut up, that's frickin' disgusting." Eddie snorted.
