"Who do you think the professor will pair us with?" Your best friend asked as you walked to your next class through the campus.

"I don't know, honestly, I just hope I don't get Brian May." You said and she rolled her eyes.

"Why?! He's so cute and... he's hot, too! It could be good." She smirked.

"You know why! He's like the coolest lad, plays in a band, y'know, and I happen to be so, so weird!"

"Oh, shut up, you're not." She laughed. "I do hope you get partnered with him, you're perfectly good looking and you'd stand a chance if you'd only bloody talk to him!" You rolled your eyes and pushed her to the side. "Oi! Stop it you idiot." You laughed when she pushed you back.

"We better hurry or we're going to be late." You stepped up the pace and got just in time for the class: Thermodynamics. You sat on the opposite side of the classroom of were Brian sat, as always.

"Good morning, class." Professor Cox said as he came in. "If you remember correctly, last class I said today I would assign your partners for the next project so let's begin." He began the list of names  and partnering people up randomly and as you heard your name you were petrified, Brian hadn't been selected either. "{Y/N} {Y/L/N} and... Brian May."

Your heart pounded in your chest. You saw your best friend smirk discretely and Brian look at you and smile lightly. You smiled back, probably looking awkward due to the panic you felt.

"All right, now let's get on with explaining the project..." He gave you all different topics and explained a little. You honestly only heard the title of yours as you were too distracted to pay attention and in no time class was over. "You're dismissed, I want your introduction draft finished for next class." You heard some students groan at this, next class was in two days. Great, now you wouldn't have time to calm yourself down before having to meet Brian. As you thought of this and put away your books, you felt someone tapping your shoulder and clearing their throat.

"Um, hello..." He said. It was Brian. You turned around and looked up.

"Hey." You said, shakily. He was way taller than you and it only made him the slightest bit more intimidating.

"I'll see you later." Your best friend said, leaving you and him alone in the classroom.

"Nice to meet you." He had a really soft voice and he extended his hand, smiling. You shook it.

"Yeah, you too." You smiled back.

"Are you free tonight to work on the project?" He asked. It was already around 7:00pm.

"Sure, if you don't have a gig or anything..." You instantly regretted saying that, now he would think you were a stalker.

"Oh, that's nice, you've seen us play then?" He seemed pleasantly surprised and his eyes sort of sparkled at the mention of his band.

"Yeah, you're amazing!" You blushed after noticing you sounded way too excited and clarified, "I love some good rock n' roll."

"Brilliant, we'll get along then." He smirked. You blushed more intensely and tried to cover your cheeks. "That's actually quite cute." He whispered.

"What?" You didn't exactly get what he said. Had he called you cute?

"Nothing." He quickly replied. "So, uh, should we go to mine? For the project I mean." He scratched the back of his neck.

"Yes, sure." You smiled.

"Come on, then, I live a few blocks away." He grabbed his bag and put it on his shoulder. You nodded and walked out of the class following him. You walked silently and stopped by at a store to buy some materials. When you stepped out Brian broke the silence. "We're almost there, but tell me, do you have a song you particularly enjoy from the band?" He still seemed excited to know your opinion.
