A Surreal Life (A Walking Dead FAN FICTION)

              Katarinas Pov:

"That is not what happened, Jeremy." I said.

"Katarina, I was there." he replied with a cute smile. 

"Well apparently you weren't all there." I stated with a smirk. All my friends laughted at my joke. To most people I sounded mean,but it was all in good fun. That was the kind of relationship Jeremy and I had.We could be so mean to each other some times. Even though we have only been married for a year, it felt like forever. I honestly think God made him for me, and me alone. Jeremy has helped me alot with my past. My past wasn't any easy thing to except, so the fact that Jeremy did was speacial to me.

        I looked up at him with a teasing smile. He gave me a fake mad expression and then bursted out laughing, "Well at least I didn't cry for five minutes after the movie."

  My best friend Emma laughed at me,"You cried watching Nemo?"

        "Shut up! That fish had a hard life!" I defended, putting my head down. I let my black curls fall in my face as I blushed. That was one of my horrible habits. I blushed at everything. The only reason we were talking about Nemo was because my friend jade had never seen it. She was kind of dumb, but we love her anyway. She is currently dating our friend Paul who was at work at the moment. He worked at the local walmart. He was Emma's cousin. Jeremy was jade's brother. We all wanted Paul and jade to get married, but they have never talked about it.
"We are out of pizza rolls." says Jermey
"What ever Jeremy we don't care what you want." I say with a teasing smile."That's not what you said last night."

My friends laughed at his joke as my face turns red because of embarrassment. 

"Go to store you midget." Jeremy says as he wrestles me off the couch into the floor,

"Ow! That hurt you jerk!"

He got up and held out his hand. "Are you okay?" He asked as I took his hand and got pulled to my feet. He put his arms around me in tight bear hug. 

"I'm okay." 

"I didn't mean to hurt y-" He was cut off by me tickling him. 

"Stop!" He yelled as he tried to catch his breath.

"will yall two quit? kat stop it im hungery. were going to get pizza rolls now" Emma said grabbing  my arm and went to  pull me out of the door i told jermey i loved him and me and emma got into the car.

 Emmas Pov:

We finally got into the my truck after kat and jer stopped flirting.She drove while i sat in the passenger seat starring out the window. The radio was crancked up and was playing "crazy girl".

When it cut off "breaking news there was a accidetent in Atlanta were a man atacked another man and bit him in the shoulder police have-" before the lady finished her sentence though kat turned it off I looked out the window again kat didnt like to hear stuff like that, but I really wanted to know what was happening .

I would be lying if I said I wasnt scared and from what Ive been through it takes alot to scare me. I was so lost in thought I hadnt even realized we had made it to the store.

We were at the store that Paul, my redneck cousin, worked at . Him and my little brother where the only family I had that truely cared about me .Lets just say my father wasnt the nices man and my mom died when i was real young,

I got out of the truck and met kat on her side of the truck. We walked into the store and got a buggy and went to the frozen food section. kat opened the freezer and started looking for the pizza rolls; thats when I saw Paul .He walked up behind kat and put his finger on his lips signaling me to be quite i did and he snuck up behind her and grapped her shoulder

"Boo"! he screamed in her ear."ahhhhh" she screamed turning around and hitting Paul in the face with the bag of pizza rolls she had in her hand By now i was pretty much rolling in the floor with laughter.

"oww " he said holding his face from her sudden impact. she glared at him "Thats what you get for scaring me like that ;why do you guys always scare me?"she pouted

"aww come on kats i was just having fun" Paul said innocently." stop calling me kats its so annoying!" "ok guys cut it out thats enough fighting". paul and kat always fought about stupid stuff like this.

"Fine, Whats up my cuz?"he asked still smirking at kat. "we just came to-". i was cut of by a loud scream we all looked at each other and walked to the end of the isle.

What i saw was something i cant describe but pure chaos. People were running around screaming and rotting dead people where following after them trying to eat them.

right away i knew what we needed to do.i took kats and pauls hands and ran to the hunting section it didnt take long seeing as though it was the isle across from that one.luckily we didnt run into any of those freaks along the way they were too busy with everyone else to notice us.

"What th hell are you doing emma we have to get out of here" paul said looking horrorfied.i ignored him and quickly started loading the buggy up with weapons i looked back at paul and kat .they where just standing there,"are you going to help me are just stand there." they then sarted to help and i looked to my right to see a new crossbow on the wall i quickly took it and some arrows

"alright lets go"i said loading a arrow into the crossbow. i had learned how to use one when i was younger and went hunting with one alot so i knew how it works.

they followed me as i stepped out of the isle .we ran too the exit paul pushing the buggy.while we were running one of those things caught kat by the hair. i didnt hesitate and shot it right between the eyes .at first i was shocked by what i had just did but i didnt have time to freak out. we had to move now. i looked down to see kat on the ground she looked like she passed out .

"kat wake up we have to go, now " she finally woke up and i helped her up. we ran to the exit and made our way to the car. paul picked up the whole buggy and put it in the back of my truck.We all pialed in kat in the middle.

we all were silient as i drove which ment i was thinking now about that thing i killed. he could have had a family once ,he was human once and i killed him.

i wanted to cry but i kept my self under control.i couldnt have them worrying about me .that was the last thing i wanted. i needed to look out for them and protect them, especally kat . i would not let her become one of those things or be killed by one of those things. not why im still alive.

Kat's POV:

We were running toward the exit when that thing pulled me by my hair.Then a arrow went thew its head causing the monster to losen his grip on me and i fell on the floor .My vision went blury and i couldnt hear anything then i saw black. Then i heard emmas voice

 "kat wake up we have to go now." i started to get my hearing back and then my vision.i was then able  to stand up. emma helped me to my feet and  we ran to the exit. paul threw the whole buggy in the back of the truck.And we drove off. We were all quit as we drove back to the house.

Emma looked like she was deep in thought and paul had a hard expression on his face. I was just numb.I was to numb to freak out about that thing that had just attacked me.I was to numb to think about how Emma had just killed something that was once a human being. I was just numb.
