It's finally my 15th birthday and father has called me into his office, but it's more like a cave with a bunch of butterflies. It's so weird, but I don't complain.

Father you ask?

My father is Hawkmoth.

He kidnapped me when I was four years old, but I don't bring it up.

He knows I know but I don't try to leave.

I like it here.

The outside world is so dangerous with the few times I've actually gone outside. I am also homeschooled so I don't have to deal with annoying people asking to copy homework.

I walked into his cave and saw him looking out of his butterfly window, like always.

"Father!" I ran up to him and hugged him.

"Happy Birthday, My Butterfly."

That's what he calls me - 'My Butterfly'.

"Thanks." I smile and hugged him again.

"I have a present for you."

"Really? You didn't have to."

"You are free."

What?

"You are free to leave this place, but you have to bring me the cat ring."

We already have the Ladybug earrings.

He gave them to me and I always wear them.

"But I don't want to leave."

He walked me to the only exit in the entire house.

"But you want to find the cat ring, correct?" I nodded. He said he would make me the happiest girl in the world if I had them both. "Then you must leave."

"Okay father." I hugged him as we stopped at the door.

"I love you My Butterfly."

"I love you too Father." I let go of the hug then he stuck his hand out. A white butterfly flew onto it which was then cupped into both his hands. "You said you would never akumatize me."

"This is so you can hear me when you need it."

The black, purple, whatever colour it is, butterfly flew into my earrings. Nothing in my outfit changed, but my bluebell eyes turned grey.

"Why did you change my eye colour?"

"I have to change something."

He patted my back.

I sighed as he opened the door.

"We'll see each other again. Promise."

"Okay."

I smiled and ran.

A little while later
I ran to the police station and bursted through the doors.

"Help me! Help me! I escaped!"

An act they fell for.

Police officers ran to me. "Escaped from who?"

"My kidnapper. Please help me!"

They nodded and brought me into a room. I sat there for a while, pretending to be shaken up.

I just realised something. I never knew my father's real identity.

Oh well.

Officers came and went and soon two people walked in. One was a short women with blue hair like me and the other was a tall man with a mustache.

"Marinette?" I turned my head towards them.

How did they know my name?

"We're your parents."

That's how.

"R-Really?"

"Really. We've missed you..." They hugged me and I hugged back.

An hour later, they took me to the front of a bakery. They led me upstairs to the attic where my room was. "This is your room. We haven't changed it since you left."

It was very pink. I had a loft bed and a desk.

"We could-"

"I love it! Thank you!" I smiled which melted their hearts.

Their little girl was back, who wouldn't melt?

"I think I'll go to bed now."

"Okay. Goodnight sweetie."

I learned their names.

Sabine smiled and she and Tom left. I walked up the stairs to my bed and lied down. I crawled under the sheets. They were really really warm. I fell asleep and I felt so comfortable.

I woke up to the smell of bacon. I got out of bed and walked down to the kitchen to find Sabine making breakfast. "Good morning."

"Morning." I yawned as she gave me a plate full of food. I ate it. It was really good. "Will I be going to school?"

"Yes. We live right next to a high school so you'll be going there in a week." She smiled and cleaned my dirty plate.

"I'll be in my room." She nodded and I went upstairs to find Tikki, my Kwami, eating the plate full of cookies I snuck up for her the night before.

Yes I do have a Kwami, but I treat her as bad as father treats his Kwami, Nooroo. He's a little sweetheart.

I sat at my desk and started up my computer which was clearly new since it was the one that was released two weeks ago.

"Wh-What are you l-looking at master?" Tikki asked, stuttering slightly.

"I'm looking up the school so I know what to expect." I smiled as I read.

My first day was in a week so I have some time to prepare the plan to look for Cat Noir's ring.
