Marinette took a sip of her hot chocolate and licked her upper lip as some of the foam had got on it.

"Umm... you got something," I reached over the table - careful not to knock anything over - and wiped off some foam that was on the tip of her nose, "there."

"You could have just pointed it out," she giggled shyly, rubbing her sleeve on her nose.

I noticed that she hadn't stuttered for a while which I took as a signal that she was getting more comfortable around me. That's a good sign hopefully.

"It was bothering me, sorry," I said despite finding it adorable.

I had made the decision to take our friendship step by step, slowly introducing her to other people once she felt safe around me and then allow things to progress from there.

I looked outside to see that the rain hadn't stopped.

"I think we might be here for a while."

"Yeah," she sighed, pulling out her phone. "And my phone's almost dead."

I pulled out my charger and held it out for her. "Here, I bought my charger. If we have the same phone, you can use it."

I plugged it in to find it fit and placed the other side into the socket so it would charge.

We talked some more, looking out of the window to gaze at the rain, soon falling into silence after.

After some time had passed, a waitress placed a plate with a slice of cake on it in front of the bluenette.

"From the young man in the corner," she said. I looked to where she was pointing and noticed Nathaniel thanks to his red hair despite the fact his bangs covered one eye.

"Uh...thank you?" Marinette replied, unsure how to act.

The waitress left with a smile on her face and Marinette looked to where the red head was sat. "Do you know him?" she inquired.

"Yeah. He sits at the back of our class. He's called Nathaniel," I explained as she took a bite.

I glanced at the cake.

"Would you like some?" she asked with a soft grin, looking at me with kind grey eyes.

"No, I couldn't! It's for you and-mmf!" She stuffed a bite into my mouth, cutting me off.

She pulled the spoon out of my mouth and I ate the food she had practically forced me to eat.

"Okay. That's some really good cake," I admitted after I swallowed it.

"I know right?" she smiled and took another bite.

I smiled at her before pulling out my phone.

Immediately I saw that I had twenty missed call and a lot of messages from Nathalie, my father's assistant.

I didn't really care this time around, much preferring Marinette's company and warmth.

I put it away and struck another short conversation with her until my phone started vibrating.

Knowing I couldn't ignore it any longer, I answered it.

"Yes Nathalie?"

"Adrien! Where are you?! Your father is worried!"

Well that's a first.

"I'm at a coffee shop near the Dupain-Cheng bakery with a friend. I'll be home after the rain stops," I explained.

I heard Nathalie sigh on the other end. "Very well, but be quick."

"Of course." I removed the phone from my ear and ended the call.

I looked up to find that Marinette was looking at me.

"Who was that?" she asked with curious eyes.

"My father's assistant. She usually keeps an eye on me and arranges my schedule. She needed to know where I was. But never mind that. Shall we continue where we left off?"

"Sure."
