"Brian, are you serious?" You said panting as you climbed a hill in the countryside of England.
"Come on, {y/n}, we're almost there!" He laughed and continued walking with your basket of food. He had said you were going somewhere different and far away but you didn't expect to have to climb such a big hill. Once he stopped, he set down one of your blankets to sit and put your basket on top to prevent it from flying away since it was a windy day. "There, come on now, hurry." He said cheerfully. You glared at him.
"Gosh, Brian, next time pick a nice flat field." You said, sitting next to him and leaning on him, still trying to catch your breath.
"Oh, stop complaining you'll love what I have planned." He smiled and kissed your forehead.
"What is this all about?" You smiled, breathing easier.
"It's a surprise, like I said, you'll love it." He looked at you lovingly. You kissed him quickly.
"And we just wait?"
"Wow, eager are we?" He looked at you with his brow arched and you laughed.
"Sorry." You shrugged with a silly smile on your face. He kissed you quickly like you had done a while before.
"It's almost time, don't worry." He put his arm around you and pulled you closer. You were silent just a little bit, watching as the sun began setting.
"Wanna snog?" You joked.
"Bloody hell, nice way to ruin the moment." You laughed.
"I'm joking." You kept laughing and Brian joined you quickly. You went serious again. "No, but really, the sunset is really beautiful."
"See, if you could just wait." He teased.
"Oh, shut up." You laughed and continued looking at the beautiful colors in the sky. As it became late, it began getting chilly so you pulled out another blanket and put it over yourselves. The sun had just finished setting and now you were waiting for the darkness of the night. In the meantime, Brian lit up a lantern and put it on the side. While you waited for it to be completely dark, you smooched a bit and whispered sweet nothings into each other's ears.
"All right, so if you look up you'll see the surprise I was talking about." Bri said. You did as he told you and you were met with a spectacular view of the incredible starry night. Your mouth hung open. "Brilliant, isn't it?" He smiled.
(Illustrative purpose of the sky only)
"This is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen..." You were truly astonished.
"And it will get better as it becomes late." You kissed him.
"Thank you for sharing this with me."
"It's a little passion of mine, you know, from when I was studying physics." He looked at you.
"Yeah, I remember you told me about that..." You said. "I understand why you're so fascinated about it."
"It's all about what's out there, such a mystery."
"Doesn't it frighten you?"
"A little, yeah..." He looked up and around. "Sure, it's massive and we don't know a lot about it, but for me feeling so small in a universe so big helps me not focus on this world's pettiness and think of the actual good things I can do in my short period of existence, y'know?" You just listened at him and his wise words intently.
"I love you so much." You said looking at him lovingly.
"I love you."
