Mina

I fumbled to get the keys into to lock while I checked my surroundings. My heart was pumping so fast I didn't have any idea what to do. Once I finally entered my apartment I sat down bewildered at the turn my night had taken. I pulled at my hair and slowly let a couple of tears fall. I was still scared even though I was back in familiar scenery, but that didn't change the fact that I saw someone get murdered right before my eyes. I looked down at the stack of money Ricardo had given me.

"Oh my god..." I sniffed

The only time I saw 10k was in two months worth of work, barely even. I got up from the sofa and poured me a glass of water. Seconds later I heard my ringtone and went to grab the phone.

"Hey you still coming in today, its not like you to not say anything." Miss Reese spoke

"Huh...uh yeah sorry I had to deal with a last minute mixup." I lied

"You sure you feeling okay I can have Cee fill in for your non exclusive clients now, really it's okay. Besides we gotta take care of ourselves sometime." Miss Reese said

After pondering on that offer for a few seconds I finally made my decision.

"You know what if you could do that I'd appreciate it Miss Reese..." I said sounding half empty.

"You take care now, heal that spirit of yours, I expect you to comeback rejuvenated and ready to work" she said

"I will" I said ending the call

I folded my hands and made up my mind to go to the mall and shop for some new equipment and things for clients.

I pulled up at Lincoln Road Mall and parked my car. I walked into the cosmo store and started browsing some new hot tools for hair.

"Hey we're gonna have to lock this store down" A Security guard said rushing in.

I heard complete chaos and screaming

"Ahhhhhh!"

"Sayir!!!!! Can I get a autograph!"

"Syyyyyy!!!" The people yelled

My eyes were being blinded by all the flash photography as the beauty entered the store.

Sayir was the R&B gold mine of our time and happened to be In Miami, Probably for the Icon Awards. She was dripped from head to toe and her brown skin glistened under the store lights.

"Everybody clear, sir lock this storefront down"

The store manager quickly grabbed his keys and slid down the gate.

"Ain't this about a bitch, how long do we have to stay in here" I huffed

"Mam this is just momentarily, please remain calm" he bellowed

I stepped over allowing more of her 30+ entourage to fill the space.

"Hey Sayir...May you please write in my book" the cutest little 5 year old I could have seen approached the star.

"That's no problem little one, do you have a favorite song" Sayir grabbed the notebook from the child and scribbled inside the book.

"My favorite...is...Love me better!!!" The girl jumped in excitement

"Awww your sooo cute" she smiled

"That's enough Alaina....& thank you" the mother grabbed the young girl

Sayir nodded and looked down at her phone. Even though I was trapped I still thought I might as well check out.

"All this for you?" The cashier asked

"Well mostly for my clients so..." I said pulling out my wallet.

"Whatchu do hair?" She asked while popping gum

"Yeah" I replied dryly

"Ooh you got any pictures of yo work cause I been needing somebody who know what they doing. You know this Miami not the ATL" she said smacking

I pulled my portfolio up on my phone and gave it to her

"Scroll right"

"Ayeee you decent, yo coloring is fyeee. You do cuts too!" The loud girl nodded

"Yeah I specialize in hair customization according to what you all want" I replied

"You got a business card" she asked

I handed her the card and placed two more items on the stand.

"Yeah I'm definitely going to be hitting you up asap"

"Looking forward to it" I replied grabbing my bag.

"Since you do hair Ima go off her reaction and see if your interested in doing mine for the Icon Award show."

I looked over slightly taken aback when I heard Sayir's proposal.

"Damn...you serious?" I asked making sure I heard her correctly.

"Unless you want me to change my mind" she cocked her head to the side

"Nah I just didn't expect that, I'm definitely interested" I agreed with almost no hesitation.

"Yeah well my hairstylist in the damn hospital sick with this stomach flu so I had to do what I saw fit." She adjusted her Chanel shades.

"I'm Mina by the way" I extended my hand to her.

"I don't touch hands, I'm a little ocd but nice to meet you Mina.

"Ah I understand" I replied letting my hand fall

"Rob take down her email address and number" she instructed her assistant

"Rob will send over the call time and all the final details." She replied

"Sounds good" I said trying to hide my sheer excitement. Who knew that the day would plan for something of this caliber. I felt motivated all over again as I watched the gate being lifted. Sayir made her way toward the side door before turning around and giving me a quick glance.
