(Mentions of gun violence and blood!)
When you left work that evening, you never expected to get caught in the middle of a shoot out. You had done a great job of avoiding getting in between the two biggest mob families in the city. The Starks and the Lannisters. Too bad they didn't get the message that you wanted no part in it. However, it did lead you to meeting Robb Stark.
You didn't live far from work, so you chose to walk that night. It turned out to be a bad idea that night. You had only made it about halfway home when you heard the first shot. At first, you didn't know what it was. Then it happened again. You screamed and ran for cover. Tears began rolling down your face. You were certain you weren't going to make it to the morning. You covered your ears and shrank back in your hiding place.
You lost track of how long you'd been there. Then, you heard the sound of footsteps hurrying passed you. You prayed to every god there was that no one found you. Luck was not on your side. A pair of shoes suddenly appeared in your vision. Shaking, you let your gaze travel up the legs of the person standing in front of you. To your surprise, you were met with a pair of kind, blue eyes.
"Are you alright?" You nodded, not caring that tears were still streaming down your face. You had never been so scared in all your life, but for some reason, you didn't want to tell him that. He reached out a hand for you to take, which you did after a moment. With a smile, he helped you to your feet. But no sooner were you standing did the shooting start again. You let out a yelp as the stranger pulled you close to him.
"Come on," he muttered, pulling out his own gun. You felt your eyes go wide. "What?! No!" He sighed. "Please? I just want to get you out of danger." You looked into his eyes and for some reason, you chose to trust him. "Okay." He gave you a tense smile. He kept you close to his side as the two of you navigated the back streets and eventually you ended up near a small, but nice apartment building.
"Where are we?" you asked. He didn't answer you at first. He was too busy checking your surroundings. In fact, he was practically silent until you entered one of the apartments in the building. He got you situated on the sofa and immediately got on the phone. You took the chance to look around the place. The building may have been small, but the apartment was gorgeous and comfortable.
Your rescuer came back. "I'm really sorry about this, Miss...?" You stood and offered your hand. "Y/N. My name is Y/N." He nodded and said, "Pleasure. I'm Robb...Robb Stark." You stared at him in shock. Of all the people in the world, you never expected Robb Stark would be the one to save you from the mob shoot out.
He looked at you with fear in his eyes. You looked back. The both of you were just waiting to see what the other would do or say. The awkward silence stretched over several minutes. Until Robb's phone rang, making you both jump. He answered it without taking his eyes off you.
"Yeah...we're safe. Yes I said 'we're'. There was a unexpected development... Yeah. As soon as the coast is clear, I'll bring her to the manor. We have to protect her...Who knows who else may have seen her out there." After a few more seconds, Robb hung up the phone.
"I really am sorry, Y/N. We'll leave in a few minutes." You licked your lips and shook your head. Robb frowned. "I have to insist." Again, you shook your head. Now that you knew who he was, you weren't sure you were safe anymore. Sure, the Starks weren't as bad as the Lannister, at least that's what some people said, but still; you wanted no part of it.
"Please, Y/N. We can protect you if one of the Lannisters did see you." You clenched your fists. Who did this guy think he was? You weren't about to just go gallivanting off to gods-know-where with a stranger. "I don't need your protection! I want to go home." Robb let out a sigh. "Fine. Then at least allow me to escort you home." You nodded reluctantly.
You let Robb lead you down to where a car was waiting and gave him the address. You refused to speak to him after that. You stared out the window instead. It may have been childish, but your life had just taken a drastic turn in a matter of minutes and you were still reeling from the shock. And it was only about to get worse.
You didn't even make it inside before the shots started again. Robb instantly tackled you to the ground and swore under his breath. He whipped out his own pistol and began firing. After a couple moments, the shooting stopped and you felt like you could breathe again. You looked to Robb.
The color was drained from his face and he looked like he was in pain. Your eyes quickly scanned his body and you saw it. Blood pouring from a wound in his leg. "Damn," you muttered. You shifted quickly to put pressure on the wound. Robb shook his head. "Need to get inside." You asked him if he could walk. He nodded and tried to pull himself up. "I'll need your help."
It took longer than it should have to get him inside, but when you did, you grabbed the nearly clean towel and pressed it to his leg. Robb tried to push your hands away. "Relax. I'm a nurse." He still pushed you away and put the pressure on himself. "Take my phone and call Jon."
With a nod, you did what he asked. Ten minutes later, there was a knock on your door. "Where is he?" a young man, around Robb's age asked as he tried to push passed you. "Who are you?" He glared at you with dark eyes. "I'm Jon. Robb's my cousin." You moved to let him by.
"You have to come with me now, Y/N," Robb said the moment you were by his side again, "They know where you live and it isn't safe. Go grab whatever you need and meet us by the car." You didn't even try to argue as you ran from the room to do what he said. He was right. Now your life was in danger.
Jon had already gotten Robb into the back of the car when you made it outside. You climbed back there with him and held his hand the entire time. You didn't pay any attention to where you were headed until the car stopped in front of an ornate estate. "Help me get him inside," Jon ordered somewhat gruffly but you weren't in the mood to argue.
No sooner was Robb in bed did an entire group of people come bustling into the room. You kept yourself from shrinking away from them as you held tight to Robb's hand. You stayed there while a doctor came in and took care of Robb. And you didn't move except to go to the bathroom for the next several hours while Robb slept. You talked to his family and kept a close eye on him until he finally woke up again.
"You stayed," he greeted hoarsely and you laughed a little. "I expected you to argue or run." You gave his hand a little squeeze. "I thought about it, honestly. But you were right. My place isn't safe and now that they know where I live, it won't take them long to learn where I work." Robb nodded thoughtfully.
"Well you can stay as long as you need to, Y/N." His eyes met yours again and the two of you froze. You couldn't deny that there was some connection there and it scared you. You cleared your throat. "Uh, thank you. For saving my life." Robb gave a little smile. "Thank you for saving mine." You sat there with your hand in his, looking into those deep blue eyes, as the sounds of the day floated around you.
