Chapter 66

As they began their walk down the aisle, Katia's heart began to race. She gripped Bruce's arm and thought her heart was going to pop out of her chest. She was far from a nervous person normally, but this was different. This was so entirely different. She glanced over and saw Zayn give her a reassuring nod and couldn't help but smile when Destiny blew her a kiss. She looked over at her sister who was smiling at her as well. When they reached Liam, Bruce held out his hand to him and gripped it tightly and hugged him.

"Don't screw this up," he said to him. "Don't you dare ever hurt her."

Liam pulled back and nodded. "I won't," he said.

Bruce turned to Katia and kissed her cheek. "I just got you and now I'm giving you away," he said trying not to cry.

She smiled at him. "You aren't losing me forever," she said and then turned to Liam who held out his hand to her and she took it and felt him squeeze it gently.

"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to witness the joining of this man and this woman in holy matrimony," the officiant began. "Is there anyone here that objects to this union, let them speak now or forever hold their piece."

Kaia felt like everyone was looking at her. She wished the ground would open up and swallow her.  She saw Katia lower her head and glance back towards her, but not fully looking at her. She looked at her husband who was watching her and saw him whisper 'I love you'. Seeing him say that made her heart swell with so much love for him and she smiled at him, not even bothering to look at the bride and groom.

"Let us begin," the officiant said and looked at Katia.  "Katia, you may begin."

Katia pulled out a piece of paper from the pocket of her dress and handed Kaia her bouquet of flowers. Her hands were shaking as she started to read.

"Liam, these are my vows to you," she began and looked up at him and gave him a smile.  Her hands were shaking.

"I promise to give you the best of myself and to ask of you no more than you can give.  I promise to accept you the way you are. I fell in love with you for the qualities, abilities, and outlook on life that you have, and won't try to reshape you in a different image.  I promise to respect you as a person with your own interests, desires, and needs, and to realize that those are sometimes different, but no less important than my own.  I promise to keep myself open to you, to let you see through the window of my personal world into my innermost fears and feelings, secrets and dreams.  I promise to grow along with you, to be willing to face change as we both change in order to keep our relationship alive and exciting.  And finally, I promise to love you in good times and in bad, with all I have to give and all I feel inside in the only way I know how...completely and forever."

She looked up at him as her eyes flooded with tears. "I love you, Liam Payne."

Liam took hold of her hand and kissed her knuckles. "I love you," he whispered.  Listening to her words tugged on his heart.  He swallowed the very large lump in his throat.

"Liam, it's your turn," the officiant said with a smile.

Liam nodded and pulled out a piece of paper of his own. He was so nervous.

"Katia," he began and his own hands began to shake. He looked at Katia as she gently took hold of his free hand and smiled at him.  "I know that our courtship and relationship is so unordinary and not normal," he said and gently squeezed her hand as she held his.

"I ask everyone present to witness that I, Liam, take you, Katia, to be my lawful wedded wife. In doing so, I vow to do my utmost to make our lives together,a true partnership. I commit to being motivated in our marriage and I will observe and act on your needs. I vow to care for your well being and show my love in all I do throughout our lives together. I will endeavor to comfort you and enrich you with my love. I will show you I can be an equal partner and with my support build a stable foundation for our lives together."
