Jughead POV
Betty was already dressed by the time I woke up. "Your phone's been ringing nonstop. I hope you don't mind, but I checked who it was just in case something was wrong." She said as soon as she noticed I had come to. "Who is it?" I slurred, pushing myself up onto my elbows. "Just Arch." She replied. "Why would Archie be– oh!" Levi! I still wasn't sure if Betty knew about Archie being bi and all."Oh, didn't he have a date with that Levi kid last night?" She asked offhandedly. "Yeah, I wasn't sure if you knew." I said, feeling relieved. It was hard to keep secrets from my girlfriend. "Yeah, yeah I know. He told me a while ago." She explained. "Should we FaceTime him?" I suggested. She nodded, smiling. I pulled out my phone and dialled.
It barely rung once. "Hi Ar-" "It went great!" He exclaimed, smiling brightly. Betty giggled at his enthusiasm. "Should we all meet outside in ten minutes and go to Pop's?" She suggested. "I'll be there." Archie said, and promptly hung up. I groaned and got out of her bed. "C'mon sleepyhead, up and at 'em." She teased. I gently caressed her cheek and gently kissed her lips.
Jellybean POV
"Are you going to take drama next year?" Seth asked me during last block. It was only a half day today because it was the last day of the year. "Yes." I said curtly, I was mature enough to know that I should be able to have a normal conversation with the boy that I hated. "Are you?" I asked out of pure spite. "Eh, I just have an irrational fear of being kicked out of plays." He said casually. I rolled my eyes whilst simultaneously snapping the elastic that I always had on my wrist. I decided to keep up my kind facade."Maybe that fear wouldn't exist if you hadn't done something incredibly stupid and offensive." I said, mock friendliness flooding my voice. "Are you sure? Because I think that it's your fault that I–" "Jellybean! Seth! You have five minutes left of middle school and I think everybody would prefer it if you both ended on a high note." Miss Stan scolded, we were spending our last block of middle school in our homerooms. I shrugged and turned around, abandoning any last remnant of our conversation.
Five minutes faded into four and four quickly became three. People tapped their pencils rather impatiently on their desks, waiting for the school year to come to a close. When there were two minutes remaining, Miss Stan began talking.
"Alright grade eights. It's been an absolute pleasure getting to know each and every one of you this year and it's hard to believe that this is goodbye. High school is intimidating, but I know you all are off to great places." She droned I'm until the final bell. "Goodbye!" She called after us as we quickly left the classroom. I collected everything out of my locker and walked out the double doors for the very last time, suddenly reminiscing about my first day here and all the memories that came along with it.
I noticed I had a text from Jughead. I'm at Pop's with Betty and Arch, care to join? I smiled and started walking in the direction of the diner. I'm on my way. I typed back before slipping my phone into my pocket. It was hot today, I could practically feel the sun beat down on my long black hair. My hair was rather inconvenient when it came to warm weather. I walked quickly to avoid the uncomfortable temperature.
Third Person POV
Jellybean entered the familiar diner and slid into a booth next to Archie and across from Betty and Jughead. "Sup Jelly." Archie greeted, messing up get hair. She cast him an unimpressed glance. "How was your last day?" Jughead asked. She only shrugged. "As far as last days go it wasn't too bad, I guess." She replied.Archie was staring off at the counter. "Levi and I sat there." He said, gesturing towards two barstools. "Cute." Betty commented, smiling at her friend. "Who's Levi?" Jellybean asked curiously, wondering if Archie has found a new guy. "My boyfriend– er, at least he will be once I work up the nerve to ask him out again." He said, blushing. "Jug, you've really got to start keeping me up to date with all of Archie's lovers. It's hard to keep track with minimal information." Jellybean teased.
