I lay low, my claws digging into the ground, my eyes locked with my next victim. Its startled heartbeat hungers me even more, but i have to wait for the right time.
My ears turn 180 degrees as i sence something is wrong, terribly wrong.
I start running in the direction my ears are taking me.
'What is happening?'
I dig my claws into the dirt, bringing me to an abrupt hault.
I look at the basket infront of me. Its whimpering
'what the fuck?'
I sniff around the package
'human?'
I sniff again before biting at the blanket pulling it back. I quickly morph back into my human form before picking up the crying infant.
''Sshh child''
I look down at the basket she was in. Only a blanket and a nappy.
She could of died.
I hold her close and put her on the inside of my jacket before looking around.
''It's ok little one, i'll get you somewhere warm''
I run back to base, dodging every tree in my path while holding the infant tight. I get inside and quickly turn on the light before walking to the bedroom.
I take her out of my jacket and carefully wrap her in a warm blanket.
''Poor child. You have done nothing wrong, but your parents did nothing right''
I kiss her on the fore head before making a make shift bed out of one of my drawers, i put in a pillow and blankets to make it as some what comftable as i can before placing her inside.
Her eyes slowly open and i pear down at them.
Blue.
Light blue.
Very light blue.
I smile looking at her eyes when her hands reaches up in the air, i place my finger on her palm and her hand wraps ever so gently around it.
My heart starts to pound steadily as I study the tiny fingers of the little infant. her eyes begin to close and mine soon become heavy. I kiss the back of her hand before releasing my finger gently.
